THIS REVIEW IS ONLY TOWARDS THEIR JEWELRY STORE. Ive purchased items from JCPenney outside of the jewelry store and havent had issues. However my experience at the jewelry store far outweighs any positive feelings Ive had to this store as a whole, thus the 1 star. So I bought my wifes wedding ring from here through the manager, Roya. She was wonderful and helped get us the perfect ring. We got a lifetime warranty, so we thought we were set. Long story short, weve had diamonds fall out and have taken the ring to JC Penney four different times. Every time was a struggle. They couldnt find our lifetime plan. The third party repair place they sent it to lost our information, etc. We probably had spent 4 hours in all those stops just to get the ring fixed. Then it took about 4 weeks each time to get it back. So not only terrible service, but terribly slow. Anyway, those were the small things. I took the ring in yesterday and was met by a complete bimbo of a man called Robert (who was the jewelry store manager). He told us that our care plan is no longer valid because we had bands soldered on to the main ring. He kept trying to say that because we altered the original state of the ring, the care plan we purchased was nullified. We explained to him that weve been in 4 times before with the ring and the soldered bands. He kept saying that he could send it in for repair, but it was likely that they would not repair it and would get us a quote on how much it would cost us. This went on for 30 minutes, and he was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I miraculously held my patience and walked him through the logic of the terms/conditions and how JC Penney has sent our ring to PTI (3rd party repair store) with the soldered ring many times before. He was too incompetent. So my wife and I wasted time driving out there, wasted our time trying to explain a very simple situation to Robert, who cannot understand basic reasoning and explaining. I have to reiterate how rude he was to my wife and I. Anyway, we called the next day (today) to the 3rd party itself and explained the situation. They said they could completely fix the ring with our care plan. My wife then called the JC Penney Jewelry store, and of course Robert answered. My wife explained who she was from yesterday. He replied say "Oh you were the one trying to repair your ring with your friend." My wife felt terribly disrespected how he referred to me, her husband. So anyway after talking to him, my wife called the manager of the JC Penney store and reported Robert to him. He said that of course theyd honor our care plan and he had no idea what Robert was saying. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A WEDDING RING FROM JC Penney. They are overpriced and their service is evil. Go to Fred Meyers, we got the bands from there. Theyve even offered to fix missing diamonds on the main ring (from JC Penney) even though we told them we didnt buy the main ring from them. Ive had nothing, but awesome experience after awesome experience at Fred Meyers. JC Penney on the other hand is ran by unprofessional who will treat you very poorly. Horrible experience. Robert is one of the rudest people Ive ever encountered.

This review is for their custom decorating department. In May of 2014 I had an interior decorator come to my home and help me in designing professional draperies for a sliding door to my porch. A month later, in June of 2014, when the installer arrived to hang my draperies it was discovered that they were ordered wrong and had arrived in two separate pieces. As such, they had to be returned and fixed. Then a month and a half later after it was fixed the installer returned only to find that the rod and finials were two different colors. Once again I had to call and remedy the mistake. I was told by a sale representative that it was ordered correctly and I was I sure there was a BIG difference. I insisted there was and that is needed to be reordered. Two more months went by and no word from the custom decorating department to update me on the progress of my order. I finally called and was told that it was on back order and was it was shipped it had mistakenly been sent to California. After my finial finally arrived for the second time the installer came out and it was again discovered that it was the same color and still didnt match the rod. Finally, I had the interior decorator come out and she said it was the rod that was ordered wrong. I insisted that after FIVE months of dealing with JC Penny and their mistakes that I deserved a discount for all the mistakes and time wasted JC Penny had caused me. I was told that one wouldnt be given to me because it was the vendors problem and not JC Pennys. So, after five months of getting the run a around I am paying on drapes that STILL havent been correctly installed. I would NEVER use JC Penny again for anything. Their customer service is terrible. I feel like I have received the run and around and their is simply no accountability. After this affair is settled I will NEVER patronize this store again. They have lost all my business for good which is sad because I have been a regular customer for over 15 years.

They do not have a return policy on mattresses. Not even 1 day. All other stores have 30, 60 or some even a 90 day comfort return policy. Since all other stores have it you would think a store like JCPenney has it too, but oops what a surprise when you call them... I got stuck with my mattress. If everything was just this - it is frustrating but understandable. But there were other 2 things which lead me to believe the store staff is just not honest 1. I was told one price, even written on a business card by the sales rep named Patrick, the very next day when I came back after visiting several other stores he said he never quoted me the that price and I ended up paying $170 more since I really liked the feel of the mattress (mattress was $2000) 2. He told me there would be a $50 rebate check sent to me within a couple of weeks but it has been more than a month now and I have not received it.

This will be the last time I set foot in this Pennys. Not saying all of the employees but the ones I encounter were so slow and useless. And this isnt the first time. We waited in line to be check out which took over 15mins and woah I never seen a checker move so so so slow. And her face was so unfriendly. Seriously were did you find these people. This girl that was checking me out was trying to be sarcastic. She had the nerves to say to my boyfriend and I are you mad you had to wait long. In the most annoying sassy voice. He was trying to be nice and say no. I said Yeah! Anyway the price is ok. But the employees are enough for me not to return. Seriously hire a secret shopper these people have to go.

I was shopping for a pair of pants near closing time. We checked out 2 minutes before closing time and they refused to help the people in line after us. A good and friendly store would help people a couple minutes after hours, a normal store would help people a little after closing, and there is your store. It helping people checkout BEFORE YOU CLOSE. This is rediculius. The employees told the lay to come back the next day. I would never go back "the next day" or ever when they treat people like that. I will never ship here again because of your poor customer service. All you needed to do was help the kind lady after me in line before closing time and you couldnt even do that. What a shame honestly.
