Please be wary of your children around the wall of stuffed animals. They use very sharp curtain hooks to attach the plush toys to the trellise and my sons dad reached for a KISS bear to show me and pulled back a bloody fingertip from where he got poked by this. He even brought the offending item to a store associate and made mention that Hirons should do something about this and all the guy could say was, "Oh...it happens all the time here and its been brought up to the owner and the owner doesnt care." Please, even if you dont have kids and see this issue please bring it up to an associate as well. If more people just speak up and annoy them with it maybe itll get changed before a kid ends up with Tetanus or a serious infection from some rusted up bacteria infested curtain hook. Or even worse some bloodborn pathogen from someone thats already pricked their finger. Thank you very much Hirons for making it apparant that you dont have the families best interests here in Eugene.

This place is a clusterf*ck. The aisles are so full of junk, I felt claustraphobic and had an extremely difficult time finding what I needed. I came in for contact solution. I thought Hirons would be convenient because they are so close to campus. Wrong. If I needed wind chimes, finger nail polish, marked down chocolates, Halloween decorations - pretty much anything but contact solution - this would be the place to come. I finally had to ask someone to find the pharmacy section - located at the very back of the building and I almost got lost trying to find my way out. I will go the extra distance to Safeway the next time I need anything.

Hirons is not for the faint of heart. Its a chaotic maze of party supplies, and holiday decorations, and weird novelty items, mixed with a post office and a pharmacy. Its like Walgreens had a love child with a clown. But its charming in its kookiness. If youre looking for something specific and its your first time there, save yourself a headache and ask an employee to show you where to go. I would swear that they have secret trails of breadcrumbs. If youre just going to wander, have a blast. They seem to have everything and, being such a short walk from campus, its better than taking a bus to Walmart.

My review should have been posted back in Feb but better late than never. Lots of items here, semi claustrophobic, and enjoyed all the Oregon gear. I also enjoyed one of the employees, like Steven did, haha. She took me back to her red little car and treated me like a king for the day. Havent seen her the last few times I have gone in but she sure knows how to make a college guy happy :)

Hirons THE STORE is great. Huge selection of random things – including Duck gear – but it somehow works. Definitely not for those with claustrophobia, however, as the isles are packed. Hirons THE PHARMACY isnt so great. The pharmacist herself is excellent, but they never seem to have prescriptions ready on time, are more expensive than competitors, and are very slow/late.

Prescriptions filled here were constantly short or had crushed pills, and pharmacists seem too inept to find correct prescriptions or to call your doctor if they have questions. If they cant do it themselves, it cant be done. And they suck at doing it. Refuses to admit fault as well.

LOVED coming here. Not only was I able to ship a parcel to some family in Utah, I was also able to pick up a prescription for my mom, AND ended up shacking up for the night with one of their workers. Thanks for the "cheap prices", lol.

I really enjoy visiting Hirons, they have tons of different things and alot of strange things. It can feel rather cramped because of how much stuff is in there, so I definitely dont recommend it to anyone who doesnt like small places.

A couple years back the store had problems with homophobia publicized around the area. Number of friends of mine have encountered assh*le employees at the stores, too. Hope this has cleared up since then.

Very slow pharmacy. Had antibiotics called in at 2pm today and Im still waiting 2 hours later. People at a pharmacy should understand that people who need antibiotics need them quickly.

The location is great and it is easy to find what you want. The employees culture is so laid back, but they are efficient at their jobs. All in all its a very welcoming atmosphere.

This place is awesome. The most incredible selection of merchandise you can imagine. Touring the store is phantasmagorical. A sensory overload. They should sell tickets.

Had to wait 90 minutes after noon when a script was called in at 8. Also they didnt check my current provider, so just charged full price. I wont be going back.
