Ok, I am a sucker for a discount price, but after 3 tries, I will never ever shop @ brooks again. Try #1, called for a 97" x 5/8" fractional horsepower belt for a mower deck. I live 60 miles away. I was told it was in stock and would be waiting for me. I came in, and the only 97" belt Brooks even carries, was a 1/2" width, the only long belt in a 5/8" width of this type was 95", I was very upset at the 120 mile round trip. Try #2, I stopped in for a quote and to purchace a Timing Set for a 97 Honda Accord. I was told Brooks only sells belts. I asked what brand and was told some Jap Crap. I reminded the associate that the Honda Accord was the #1 selling car in America at that time, and asked that he please double check the listing. He must have already had the book open to the Honda page, because a >1 second glance and his answer was no, kit, only belts. I asked for a quote on the tensioner, rollers, and belt seperately then was told firmly once more that Brooks only sells timing belts. Try #3 was today. I called for a quote on a 94 F250 Master cylinder and power booster. I was told Brooks doesnt sell power boosters, and that when I find someone who does, that it wil;l come with a master cylinder anyways, so I might as well just go with them.... I have 15+ years in parts managment, and am completely shocked at these situations. First off, having a customer come down for a non extant part is completely unacceptable, In this job market, for unqualified parts people to be running a parts store is going to result in a loss of customer base eventually. A strong manager/owner, would see this, and look for either qualified help, or train the employees they have to be people that want to actually sell things to make the business money. I even tried to prompt the employees each time to see about a s/o or maybe an outside purchce from an outside supplier, just to take care of me the customer, that went no where. I will not only never patronize your store again, but plan to tell everyone I know both personal and professional,

As a child my Father frequented this establishment, at that time they always provided superb service and the knowledgeable staff helped in any way reasonably allowable, sometime even beyond that which I would consider reasonable. They even put up with a younger child drooling over every little thing when I had virtually no knowledge of what I was truly looking at. This is something I have found in my "adult" years to continue with the current staff and alone is enough to convince me to spend my hard earned dollars here. However even if you removed the incredible staff from the equation and rated this store based simply on value of parts it would once again take the lead by a large margin. Granted other stores can get you parts, and some of them will be the same but most likely at a higher cost, a specific example of difference in parts selection includes an exhaust clamp, a simple and inexpensive part. At Brooks this not only cost less than the competitors but was more robust and had better fitment to the advertised dimensions. As I am now of adult age, although in reality little more than a man child, I have continued this family tradition of supporting this store and cannot recommend it enough.

I have had two experiences with these guys. Needed a radiator fan sensor for a 92 Mazda 626. Every parts store in the Eugene Springfield area either couldnt get it for a week or couldnt get it at all. Not to mention the best price was almost fifty bucks. Not only did Brooks have the part, they gave it to me for $15.00. Blew a head gasket in my 82 Nissan 720. Once again nobody has the parts on hand and the price varied from 80 to 140 bucks for the complete gasket set. Brooks got me the kit in one day and still cost less than the lowest quote. I have never had any issues with part quality and you cant beat the prices.

The store is a bit dated and faded but it has a lot inside. The prices were shockingly low and the service is amazing! Both the parts counter (the lady behind the counter has some serious knowledge) and the front checker were very nice. This store reminds me of the small-town auto parts store of the past.

This is a large automotive store with a nice selection of parts. They have a variety of aircooled Volkswagen parts at good prices though much of it appears to be EMPI-brand stuff (cheap). The help is always nice and they know their stuff.

I could spend hours in there looking at all the great old school car n truck parts and they have good prices on parts for my 81 Ford to ! I really like Brooks !
