Even though its more on the expensive side, my fiance and I like to come to market district for the steaks. In my opinion, they have a better selection and better cuts than any other grocery store close by. Their steaks are always delicious. My fiance and I stopped by today to get some Delmonico steaks. The service was pretty quick—we only waited a few minutes. However, the older guy behind the counter who was supposed to be helping get our steaks was very rude. Im not usually a person who would call someone rude, because I understand dealing with customers all day can be draining, but this guy rolled his eyes and shook his head after I politely asked for two Delmonico steaks. Then he walked away without saying a word. When he came back he continued the entire transaction with a condescending tone, while I tried to stay as polite as possible. As soon as we were handed our steaks I said thank you and we walked away. Before I could mention anything my fiance brought up how weird it was that this guy was being so mean. I asked if I said or acted in any way that could be taken the wrong way and she said "not at all." Since weve gotten home, Ive replayed this conversation in my head over and over again and I just dont get why this guy was so rude. So unfortunately, even though market district does have great steaks, Ive got a bad taste in my mouth from this experience and Ill have to settle for the steaks at Kriegers.

I am reviewing not the grocery store, but a manager I had an experience with today. The manager is Ben. There was a customer in the checkout line ahead of me who claimed the bagged limes were bogo. They did not ring up as expected so the cashier sent someone looking for clarification. Upon returning, the associated said they were not bogo and the customer was upset. Ben happened to be in the area and overheard and without blinking an eye gave the customer the limes bogo. The customer was grateful and proceeded on. It didnt stop there. Upon checking out myself, Ben insisted that the cashier give me $5.00 off my total ($15.00) bill because I waited patiently. Thank for, Ben, for being a great manager and knowing how to treat customers like humans.

Honestly, this hurts me because things started so well, and no doubt Ill continue to shop there, but the last two times I was there one of my items rang up incorrectly, and rather than fix it, two different rude front end leaders argued with me and berated me for calling it out. Tonight I got home with my Asian bar hot meal. Correction,I got home with someone elses hot meal. I dont like the stuff that ended up in my bowl, so Im throwing it out and calling it a night. Whoever got my to go meal,I hope they at least enjoyed it. Worry less about moving everything around after less than two years and just take care of your customers.

Reviewing a supermarket... well this is a little different than your typical supermarket. So as a food shopping destination I suppose its good. It excels at fresh, made to order and prepared foods. It serves alcohol, featuring wine and beers, and has a state liquor store and good selection of beer and wine. The deli is good. Whats disappointing is the availability and variety of grocery items. While it has most everything youd expect, the variety is lacking, thats not just the Market District, but the parent chain, Giant Eagle as well. Prices are fair, but not the lowest by any stretch of the imagination.

Grabbing food and trying to relax upstairs in the dining area is impossible due to the never ending flood of poorly behaved and unattended middle school and high school kids. I used to come here more often, but little has been done to keep these kids from loitering. I am currently there and a group of 8th graders nearly spilled a drink over my computer. I am going to cease coming and shopping here. PUT up a sign: Nobody under 18 without a parent just like the malls do (they dont buy anything to begin with).

I love this market district! Everyone is friendly, aside from the 2 times Ive gone to the self checkout where they didnt say anything, not even a hello when they came to fix something on my screen. The bakery selection is wonderful! But the thing I just recently tried was the curbside. Im a first time mom and getting in a good shopping trip isnt always possible. The first 3 trip fees ($4.95 ea.) Are waived. They load everything into your car so you dont even have to get out! Saved me a lot of time!

Just went in to pick up food for tonights BIG cavalier game and ended up pulling a long strand of hair out of my mouth that was in the macoroni salad. When I called to let them know that there back kitchen has a problem the Deli manager just said to bring in for a refund. HELLO what are you going to do about this to prevent it from happening again. My time is more valuable than trying 10 minutes back to get $3.50. Should never have happened in the first place.

Liquor Store AND a Bar?! Besides the regular food you can buy, and the seafood counter had some stuff i never see usually so i assume they do carry other rarities, there were a bunch of people sitting at the bar having drinks watching news or sports...maybe thats were you can go to eat the food you just had made to order at the kitchens in there...but i just thought that was unusual...i guess you can make a whole day of your food shopping experience.

First time there just went in to grocery shop. Found it to be very clean and well organized with so much to offer. Way more than I expected than at a typical grocery store. Upon checkout I found that to be very efficient with the bottle neck area of impulse buys ( well played BTW ) while you wait for the talking sign that directs you to the line you should proceed to. The cashiers are very fast and friendly as well.

Great place to shop if you want a full experience! Wide variety of products, a few restaurants inside, a Starbucks, and there is even a bar! The meat and seafood departments are excellent with a very large variety of cuts and seasond prepared meats and seafood. If you need help in the meat department, ask for Nic! He has tons of experience and can help you with just about anything.

Nice store. Horrible service. Pharmacy is the worst. DO NOT USE. Never have anything ready or give the lamest excuses why not ready. Even the auto ordering. Been using for 8 months no problems just pick it up when it calls. All of a sudden they say it was just an informational call and the prescriptions not ready. Done just lost an all around customer to Giant Eagle. JS

Huge and stocked with a vast variety, but generally more expensive than other chains and the checkout experience is horrific -- the automated waiting line directs you randomly to tellers who may or may not have lines at their stations, but you cant use the self-service checkouts unless you have a Giant Eagle card. I only come here to dash in to the liquor store.

This is my favorite Market District Giant Eagle. Large store with prepared foods, regular groceries, specialty groceries, large beer and wine area, large gluten free and organic sections, and bar/restaurant. Recently tried their California Buckeye Roll Sushi. It was excellent! I love exploring here and can always find the hard to find items on my list.
