I purchased a used vehicle Friday afternoon from Kings Toyota in "as-is" condition after receiving an email from the salesman that listed the items that were found during the service check & that were repaired as agreed when I put my deposit down. His email also said "the rest all good." Saturday afternoon I tried to open the passenger side window & it wouldnt open. I also tried the DVD system which was one of the main reasons for purchasing the Honda Odyssey, that doesnt work either. I called & emailed the salesman immediately and when I heard back from him several hours later, he said he would speak to the Sales Manager. I spoke to the sales mgr a few times Saturday evening and after being talked down to by him as to when I was going to take ownership, I was told the dealer would not fix these items that were obviously broken when we bought it. We take responsibility for not trying the front window or dvd system - when they said it was going through the Toyota service department, we thought everything would be checked. We were told only after the fact that only "safety" & "mechanical" options were checked. When only 2 windows open in a van, I would consider a non-working window a safety issue if I had to escape w/ my 3 children! There is the 3 day exchange policy, but only if you have something of equal to or less than vehicle available, which you dont. Chris finally offered to (quite conveniently) have it checked by your service department today, then I could use my "coupon" for 50% off of service...I asked for everything in writing from the sales mgr Saturday & have not heard back. He assured me he would send me an email yesterday when he got into the showroom. I wanted it in writing that since today is the 3rd day, I will not miss out on the opportunity to exchange this vehicle if the opportunity presents itself or that I will held accountable if my mileage is over 300 miles since I live in northern Kentucky. It is now 10:45 on Monday morning and I have yet to hear from him as to scheduling a "service" visit. I have purchased cars from both dealers and private owners over the years and this is honestly the worst experience Ive ever had. As I told the sales mgr, $7000 may not seem like a lot to him, but to my family, it is. That is all we can pay for a safe, reliable vehicle for our family - I cant pay for additions after the fact. We wanted the Honda Odyssey EX-L because of all the amenities it offered - leather seating & DVD system. Our salesman has been very friendly and helpful during this process, but after the deal was done, weve received horrible customer service & feel we have been taken. If something broke after we brought it home or if we had been made aware of it during the sale, we would understand, but this is just plain old scamming. I find it hard to believe that 2 major items would "break" within 24 hours. I understand purchasing a vehicle "as-is" but only when its the vehicle I was told I would be getting. As the largest Toyota dealer in the nation, I would expect much more from that team - not the arrogance I was given.

I purchased a Sequoia from Kings Toyota and my experience was less than pleasant. The salesman play all of the typical games and then some. I made an appointment first to look at the vehicle myself, then the second time with my wife. Even though we spoke to the exact salesperson that we would later purchase the car from, making an appointment proved useless. I honestly believe they made us wait just to gauge our interest. Each time, we waited for over one hour just to view the vehicle. Even the day that I was supposed to pick up the vehicle, everything was supposed to be completed and all I had to do was pick up my keys took two hours. When it came time to trade in another vehicle and negotiate price, it was one lie after another. I understand negotiating and its a game, however, these salespeople have absolutely no integrity. All of that being said, here is the biggest kicker. The TOYOTA Salesman was completely clueless about the TOYOTA Sequoia. He had several years in the industry and specifically with Toyota. As he was explaining all of the features of the vehicle after the purchase, he took extra time to go over the 4 wheel drive features. He told me that I only want to switch to 4 Hi if I am stuck and that I should absolutely never drive the vehicle in 4 Hi. He went on to explain that there is a 4 Lo that I should never even think about using and finally a locking center differential that I should only use if I am stuck in sand. I started questioning my own common sense and asked why I cannot drive in 4 Hi. He said, "well, if you are caught in a terrible rain storm, you can switch to it just for a minute". He did know that you can go from 2 Hi to 4 Hi while the car is moving up to 62 mph. Now Im thinking I bought a glorified rear wheel drive SUV. I then asked him if I can use 4 Hi on a slippery boat ramp and he shook his head and agreed that I could use it just briefly. When I got home, I read the manual cover to cover and the Salesman is off his rocker. You can and should drive in 4 Hi anytime you think you need the extra traction. The manual mandates that you spend atleast 10 miles per month in 4 Hi to keep the components properly lubricated. I feel horrible for people that purchased SUVs from this salesperson and heeded his advice. Finally, Ive purchased a fair number of cars, boats, motorcycles in my days and this is probably the second worst experience Ive had. The certified Toyota needed new wiper blades all around and had a few other issues that should have been caught by whoever certified it!

The lease on our 2007 Camry was up this March and we contacted Kings Toyota regarding purchasing the car. Jim Gray contacted us about buying the car, what interest rate we would qualify for, and told us because of our "bad" credit they would have to certify the car and we would have to pay them $1500 to do this. We scheduled our appt. with Jim Gray for a Saturday, and when I didnt hear from him, I called him Friday night to confirm, he said he was going to call but lost my number! I asked him if we put down more on the car could we avoid the car having to be certified. He said no. We got to Kings at our appointment time of 1:00 pm. No one could locate Mr. Gray. After waiting over a half an hour he showed up, threw some papers at us and asked us to sign them. All the information he had on the paperwork was wrong! Our address, our mortgage company, our salaries, our phone numbers etc. My husband and I were so irritated that he didnt do his homework, and told him we wanted to put $5000 down and finance the other $4500. His reply was "I wish you would have told me that last night!" I said I did, but you told me I couldnt do that, but I knew differently. He then said he didnt have time for us because he was working for someone in the new car lot, and wed have to re-schedule. Then we all left. When I got home I paid another payment on the car, because it wouldnt have surprised me if Toyota tried to re-possess it!!!!! The following Tuesday someone else called my husband at work and asked why we paid another payment on the car. My husband didnt mince words and told him exactly why. The following Sunday Jim Gray did show up for our appt. on time, we handed him a check for $5000, and walked out with "our" car. I doubt any more than 5 words were spoken. The only reason Kings Toyota wanted to make it hard on us to buy the car, was because it was a 2007 Camry with only 14,000 miles on it. They knew they could sell it for a lot more than we owed on it. A word to everyone out there!!!! Never buy a car from Kings Toyota and never use Jim Gray as your salesman!
