My husband and I went to Car City recently and it was an awful experience. We were excited because they said they could help us out with our income no problem. We asked if they ran a credit check and we were told no. It was explained to us that they go on your income and ability to pay not by your credit history. My husband gave the salesman his information and his work stub and we were told he was going to check and see how much we could afford and he would be right back. He came back a short time later telling us that the finance department was closed and he would have to call us on Monday. When he called my husband on Monday he told him that with what showed up on the credit report that we would have to put 1500 down. We asked about that specifically and were told that our credit would not even be ran. This company puts a device on your car so that if you miss payments that they know where your car is yet they lie to the customers. If you value honestity and privacy, I would suggest that you stay away from Car City. We were fortunate enough to go to a place called Michaels in Port Huron who were honest, friendly and worked very hard to get us into a beautiful, great shape, amazing car.

Best customer service I have ever received while purchasing a car!! The salesman was out so I dealt with the Finance Mgr, Aaron. Aaron was outstanding. He gave me time to walk around the lot and view the inventory before I was ever approached, which I appreciate! There was no pressure to buy, nor did he attempt to put me in a vehicle I couldnt afford. Very friendly, professional and excellent customer service. Ive had a bad situation with RPM and Aaron even contacted the finance company personally to express my situation before they made a loan determination. He went above and beyond what was necessary to ensure that I was pleased. I didnt see what I wanted on their lot so he directed me to their website. I was able to call Aaron and verify the vehicles were still available before traveling which saved me a lot of time. He did offer to have them shipped to Lansing to save me the drive, which I politely declined. I will be sure to recommend Aaron at Car City to my friends and family if they are looking to be treated with respect, find a nice car at a good price, and have an excellent experience!! Thoroughly satisfied customer!! Thank you Aaron!!

This place is indeed awful. They will repossess your car if you do not make payments, but they will sell it at auction, and you have to pay the difference in the price between what it sells at, and what you owe. If you want out at the beginning, you have to pay more than what the car is worth. They will not let you out under any circumstances, even if you lose your job. Any place is better than this one. The salesperson actually told me that you can pay for the car if you get together the money at any time, and then you dont have to pay the rest of the interest that would stack up, which I now know to be a blatant lie. I wish I had never heard of them, Id rather not have a car than be saddled with a lease to them now. Also, the amount that you will end up paying is for the price they say the car is, plus over 50%. Not to mention, the cars are not in great condition, but they only fix what is immediately obvious to make them seem better. So, in short, it is not worth it by any means, and there are other places that will except you without credit, and you wont be so very stuck in the end.

First and foremost, I would just like to say that I do not, and have never, worked at or for Car City Supercenter. That being said, I wandered into the Lansing location last week and was greeted by John, who was exceedingly forthright and helpful. I was very impressed with his upfront honesty about how their process worked and the requirements. I was so impressed that I returned today and leased a vehicle. My experience was decidedly positive. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They took my "less than stellar" credit and got me into a car that my own mechanic approved of. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality vehicle. As for the reviews that cry about repossessions, balloon payments, etc. LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR SALESMAN TELLS YOU! All these issues where explained, in detail, by my salesman BEFORE I signed anything. Read the fine print and ask questions, dont just zone out and sign on the dotted line. Common sense people.

My wife and I came in looking for a bigger vehicle for our family since the car we had could not fit us and our 3 kids. The salesman Victor was amazing from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out. They got us in a bigger vehicle, put some gas in the vehicle, and was very helpful with making sure we will be getting our new plate sent to our home, etc. Victor was a wonderful salesman and I highly recommend him to anyone and I highly recommend Car City to anyone. Thank you Car City! Also this is the first place in over four months that got us in a vehicle. We have been searching for over four months and the car dealerships we went to wanted a very high down payment and a trade-in on top of they were rude to us and did not want to work with us nor help us get in a bigger vehicle. Car City got us in a bigger vehicle with only a $40.00 down payment. They are the place to go!

They are a bunch of Con-Artist CROOKS! The $39 and a job with $1500 monthly income that they post EVERYWHERE, is a TOTAL LIE!! Sure you need $39, BUT what they wont tell you, is that you also must come up with an additional down payment, depending on the vehicle, and your first monthly payment up front. Also all of their vehicles are on a "lease program" (think rent to own). Your "payment" is for 4 years, and there is a balloon payment required at the end. The so called finance manager is nothing but a snake oil salesman. Very rude, and very arrogant. They told me with my credit i would not be able to get financed anywhere else. HA! I went down the road and got a good deal on a newer vehicle with less miles than anything on their lot! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!

RUN RUN RUN FOR YOUR LIFE....there is a reason that they only need $39 down....they will mess up your credit and cars are junk....the only bank that they finance with is Orbit Leasing in Wyoming MI and you can read their reviews for further knowledge of horrible customer service and HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! If you lease a car from them and choose not to buy it or lease again with them they stick you with a bill for what they could not sell the car for...THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
