Although I did not see the criminal element so often lamented upon, the area we visited was clean, and the permanent vendors were very nice... The entire visit was tarnished by the Picture with Santa" which had attracted many dogs, as they allow them. The vendor - MyHolidayMements (Cherry Hill Photo) invited dog and child alike for their shoots... $23 for two 4X6 prints - and they dont bother photo-shopping all the DOG HAIR out... Further - times are tough so they are unable to buy a lint roller to keep the hair from the last dog off the next child to sit. Watched a parent get shamed for taping their child (video) while waiting in line (in line, between yelping dogs, not sitting on Santa - twice and the second time had the threat of not allowing her child to sit for a picture if she didnt stop). Dogs walking through the food court I can get past, but the idea of mixing pets and children - REALLY. Its one thing if its your families pet - but I saw 13 dogs and 4 kids. Dear new mall owners, this was my first and LAST trip to the mall. Media coverage is always suggesting a rebound - but if you are so GREEDY you allow this, or so ignorant you claim out of our control - then perhaps you deserve the stories of free-range hoodlums and danger lurking around every corner.

This mall is like the last scene of Old Yeller before they shoot Old Yeller because he has rabbies except there is a glitch in the DVD player where it plays the minute before pulling the trigger on a perpetual loop. Sorry I didnt provide a spoiler warning for those of you that havent seen the movie but it is 59 years old by now. Also, I take back that I said sorry, it is a classic. If you were raised right you would have watched it by now; if you are mad about finding out that the dog dies then be mad at your at your parents for not raising you right. Also, I hate to rub salt on a fresh wound, but the movie is 59 years old so the dog that played Old Yeller is also dead. Gosh, this review keeps getting more depressing every moment, just like Chapel Hill Mall does.

Its an ok place. This mall, from the looks of it, is turning into a second rolling acres. The area has high crime rates like rolling acres and a lot of stores are moving out; lots of vacant spots throughout the mall. All these factors caused Rolling Acres to collapse (literally) and unfortunately the same is happening to this mall. The mall is starting to show noticeable signs of wear and needs a renovation (tiles falling out of ceiling, leaky roof, chipping paint, etc.) if it wants to stay in business. The food court is amazing, however, there is not a good selection of stores in the mall anymore like there was a year ago. Not sure I would come here again. Sad its becoming like this and will most likely not be around in the next few years. :(

It totally SUCKED couldnt get help but as I was walking out feeling like Im walking out the old Rolling Acres Mall a man working at Cricket Wireless actually help me out and made my morning I went to the Best store inside the mall the two girls were rude disrespected me and treated me like the ground they walk on Ill never go back there again to buy anything at all!! My opinion Chapel Hill Mall wont be around much longer its pretty sad I personally will never shop there again Id rather jump on the highway and drive 20 minutes away and go down to Belden Village I shop at Belden Village Mall

I dunno, i remever it during the better years, i never grew up in the area, but i remeber a mall. To me, the carousel was the big thing to me that stood out, also fye, and two gamestops on either side. (I my preferb is EB games, but ya we know the story) I work here now, and there can be a lot of things changed, tried or tested. At least from those of us who hang in there. As of right now there is no end...but everyone talks like it is. Cant let it die!! Dunno, what happens happens. Just ve ready, tennate, customers ,etc.

As of 7/31/2016 half the businesses seem to have moved out being replaced by smaller locally owned type shops. Food court took a hit with businesses leaving too. Recently the mall was purchased by a company who appears to be interested in developing the property and area, so fingers crossed. Two places of interest: one shop rents out motorized animal shaped scooters that you can ride around the mall and another shop is a relaxation spot where you can get massages and the like.

What a disaster. I cant believe the mall of my childhood has come to this. The anchor stores have pretty much gone. There are barely even any stores one has ever heard of there. It literally has not been updated since I was a kid (and Im old). A mall that cant even support an Old Navy? Things have gotten pretty bad. The City of Akron (proper) continues to crumble (except for 1/3 of downtown near the university that the politicians love) and this is a prime example.

I am giving this a 5 star rating because this mall reminds me of being a kid. I grew up in the area and associate a lot of good memories with it from when I was younger. Presently speaking the mall needs some work. There are still a good selection of stores but there are also a lot of vacant spots also. I dont know if it can rebound to what it once was or if it will end up like Rolling Acres Mall

There isnt anything there, there are a couple stores, but you have to walk a long way through emptiness to get to the next store. No body goes there anymore and it is just a sad and depressing place. Everyone in the area used to hang out there as kids and it was just a cool place to be, now it is getting ready to close down and we will all have to drive pretty far for shopping. Its very sad.

Well, I havent been to Chapel Hill mall since last year (to pick up a gift card) and was planning on going there sometime this week...but after reading these reviews, Im not sure its worth the drive. In all truth, Ive never shopped Macys but Im sad to read its gone along with what seems like many other stores. What a shame...and to think I was going to take my kids to see Santa. :(

Ive watched as this mall slowly falls... JCPenny is the only anchor left, all the good shops have been replaced by "Counterfeits". Honestly if it wasnt for Spencers, Hot Topic, Charleys and the quick service Asian food places I wouldnt be showing up here anymore... So much history fading away... If the carousel disappeared I wont have any words, just grief.

Its okay its a mall very few national chain stores left in the mall its supposed to undergo a Revival with new owners but like Ive been saying for years it doesnt matter what you put in there if the people in the surrounding area dont have the money to shop there it doesnt matter and combined with online shopping retailers face a big problem
