! A Ghastly Experience at the Note Worthy store! I strongly discourage patronizing the Note Worthy store! The demeanor of their staff does not belong in such an otherwise classy shopping center. My friend and I were watched constantly by four to five saleswomen, from the time we entered the store until the time we left, as if the sign which greeted us on the front window (Smile you’re on camera, we prosecute shoplifters) wasn’t enough! I was told to “let me take these and hold them at the counter” concerning items I was holding in my hand while shopping. During one of the saleswomen’s many trips to the back of the store, the police arrived and was stationed inside the store watching us. I had made purchases three different times before this visit and was appalled at the way they chose to treat an established customer. All of this, for a purchase of less than $10 in trinkets! We felt like we were being racially profiled by the Note Worthy stores staff (not by the police). At almost fifty, this was my first experience of this nature. I had to say a prayer of thanks for all my ancestors’ contributions to my freedom which I used then to walk out of the store and will use now to shop at finer establishments with truly fine and welcoming staff. I strongly discourage patronizing the Note Worthy store!

In a world of want for something new, Thruway is a survivor. It has been around ever since I can remember, and Im hitting 50 this year. It has gone many iterations over the years, yet, the structure has remained pretty much the same. As far as location, it couldnt be better, right smack beside the highway and on the main retail strip in town. More new establishments have been built around it, still it remains a choice spot. I could list all the resident vendors, but what really matters is that Deweys Bakery is located in Thruway. Enough said.

I admit Thruway Shopping Center has some very good shops, but some are extremely overrated. The owners spent years and some $$$ to make this shopping center what it is today. Had the owners only thought once about traffic flow instead of more buildings = more $,$$$,$$$,$$$ This place is a nightmare to navigate due to a total lack of traffic flow considerations. I no longer spend money at the shops at Thruway with one exception of Harris Teeter.

Our family loves Thruway! It was one of the first places we found when we moved to town and even though weve moved across town we still go back all the time. We buy gifts at Toys and Co, everything for our dog at Pet Supermarket, eat at Moes, and visit Deweys more often than I would like to admit. The whole area is always clean, and parking isnt ever a problem. Love the fact that we are able to support so many local shops with one stop.

Thruway Center made an amazing turnaround over the last 20 years. Once, it was struggling, with dated stores and appearance. Now, it has become one of the most elegant strip shopping malls, with many upscale boutique stores. Conveniently located near I-40 (Business) and local neighborhoods, and across from a Krispy Kreme doughnut factory store (fun way to reward kids for being good while you shop).

Thruway shopping center has everything anyone would need! There is a Harris Teeter, Trader Joes for grocery shopping. A Talbots for clothes shopping. Toys Inc for toys and Carter for children clothes. Plus there is a Stein Mart. Also, a Hanes Brand Outlet Store, Hams restaurant, Chik FilA and Sports Clips. Come and spend the day!

A really high quality shopping mall that has continually updated over the years. There is something here for everyone. Gifts, high end clothing for the family, basic clothing at Hanes Outlet, outdoor gear, two grocery stores, several restaurants and a pet store. Parking can be a little trying at times but I still love shopping here.

Always go to the Great Outdoor Provision co. The shops are great however the park is terrible around the holidays. Avoid is possible at that time. There is a Trader Joes, Stein Mart, and other big end stores such as Ann Taylor. Great restaurants as well. Carving Board is a unique place to eat and The Loop has great pizza.

I was a bigger fan of this strip mall before Borders went out of business. There are a couple of skate-spots around there and a couple of OK stores too, but you have to be rich to afford shipping at them. SKATEBOARDS BEWARE: They will call the pigs so keep your head on a swivel.

It is a great place to shop with lots of options (ESP. Trader Joes!) but the parking lot can be a bit hairy! They have recently added flashing lights at the 3-way and 4-way spots in the lot but drivers seem to not pay attention. If you are walking around, be alert!

Thruway Shopping Center is a quaint little strip mall that has some stores that are unique and not found in the large malls in the area. Its not as crowded and its very convenient to business 40 if youre traveling through the area.

Went to Be Shoes, mall is hard to navigate with many speed bumps and heavy traffic. Unfortunately Be Shoes is one of the few places in town that sells Merril shoes. Not my favourite thing to do but necessary 1 or 2 times a year.

hard to rate this shopping center as a whole, but it does have some great stores. Of course Deweys baker, free cake squares on Mondays and it has a J Crew store which is nice so you dont have to drive all the way to the mall.

A lot of the shops and restaurants here are a bit uppity for my tastes, but there are a few gems inbetween! I have always loved the pet store in this area. They have a neat selection of items, and the staff are very nice.

Great variety of stores, but everything is so crammed into one tiny little shopping center, that just entering the parking lot could cause someone to have an anxiety attack! Too many vehicles and pedestrians to mix them!

Trader Joes is great, and in addition there are quite a few stores in this shopping area. Dessert, shoes, clothing, a specialty type kitchen store, and many others in this shopping center, and on down the street.

Fair place. Very dated. Very nuvoreche. The pet store was nice. Too many yuppies shop here. It used to be friendlier. Other places to go and be treated correctly. The pavement is rough..lots of potholes.

My favorite place is Trader Joes. People there are warm and always willing to help. Steve R. is a great person to get to know as he makes sure you always leave with a smile and a pleasant see you soon.

Great outdoor shopping center with something for everyone. JCREW, Deweys and trader Joes. Also has a bunch of other clothing stores. Only issue can be parking especially around the TJs

Trader Joes brought diversity, but there sure are a lot of wealthy, snoody shoppers here. Hence an irregular amount of homeless individuals. The shop selection is pretty decent.
