My wife and I had been through the classroom portion of the PADI Open Water cert. a couple years ago with a different trainer and the class fell apart after the lectures. We recently booked a cruise and wanted to get certified prior to going so that we could do some dive excursions. I checked at a couple different shops in the area, but none of them had classes that would work with my irregular, rotating Law Enforcement schedule. Enter Patriot Dive Center and its owner, Rob. Rob went FAR out of his way to figure out a schedule that would work for my crazy schedule to get us certified. His Instructors and Dive Masters were very knowledgeable, Helpful, and friendly. Barry, Amanda, Blake, Aaron, and Rob did everything they needed to do to help us get this checked off my bucket list. There is no doubt that I will do ALL my future training and certifications with Rob and Patriot Dive Center.

With an already amazing reputation in Wilmington, I had only the best of expectations when walking in the door! From Ashley at the front desk full of energy and excitement for this awesome sport to Rob, the owner, and his vast knowledge and experience, I cannot wait to start diving with this crew!!! They look to foster and encourage local divers to grow in their experiences and become better divers and are quickly welcomed into the Patriot Dive Center Family! Im still new to this sport myself, and can already tell that it may just be easier to start signing my paychecks to them just to save time haha Im staring with one of Robs favorite dives, and joining a huge group that is going to the Atlanta Aquarium in January. Sometimes you just walk into a place and feel right at home, and this is one of those places...definitely go check them out!!!

This is the best dive shop in Wilmington. The owners Rob and Heather are knowledgeable, and passionate about diving. Their training is organized, well planned and fun. You actually learn versus just collect a training card. The location is very convenient. It is centrally located and near UNCW. They are a full service 5 star PADI Dive Center. Ive rented gear, had gear serviced, and purchased gear. They are second to none. Fast, reliable, and honest. I cant say that about their competition. They have many dive travel opportunities. I had a great experience on one of their Florida trips. They also sponsor free fun dive weekends. Ive met new buddies on those weekends. They will fulfill all your dive needs.

I took the AOW class with patriot dive center. I was very disappointed in my experience with the instructor and the dive shop. Class instruction was canceled at the last minute, the list of gear needed for the weekend diving was given last minute (so if you didnt have what you needed then you were out of luck), and the weekend dives were poorly executed. Both dive groups attempted search and recovery on items that were never retrieved because the items either floated off or were collected by other divers assuming the items were trash. Patriot Dive Center needs a lot more structure and planning before I would consider taking another class with them.

Safety, professional, curtious, friendly, knowledgable, and understanding are just a few adjectives I would feel comfortable using to describe my experience while I was obtaining my PADI Open Water Scuba Certification from Patriot Dive Center. If you have ever been curious about scuba diving, these are the guys to go see. PDC has staff that is knowledgable and experienced in all matters diving, and more than happy to get anyone started in underwater adventures. I would recommend them to anyone interested in learning to dive, interested in a dive trip, or adding any further PADI certifications to their resume.

With a Platinum rated PADI Course Director in the shop every day, you can do everything from a discover SCUBA experience, to technical diving with a closed-circuit rebreather, to instructor-trainer level certification.

I just finished my open water certification with Patriot Dive Center. Rob and Patrick made me feel comfortable and well supported -- they answered all of my questions patiently and made the process fun, as it should be. My big concern was with my ears and they were great with helping me with technique, going slow (and being patient with myself), and just making this bucket list item a reality. Great outfit -- very trustworthy. Im excited for more diving and more classes!

Wonderful trip with amazing people and even more amazing diving!! The food was amazing, and the diving was the chance of a life time. I the crew was everything you could ask for. They were genuinely warm and tried to make the most of your trip. safety was a priority and you always had a buddy. Rob was awesome and taught optional classes and specialties over the trip, which made it all the more fun. I couldnt have asked for a better first diving trip.

The Whale Shark dive at the GA Aquarium was awesome. The facility was super, the people were great, the fish and animals were very healthy and extremely well taken care of. I was looking forward to this trip and it was everything I had expected and more. I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in seeing large sea creatures up close and personal. Thanks guys for making this a fine, fun time.

Patriot Dive Center is first class all the way. Their lead dive instructor hold the highest level certification you can get... so you are learning from the best. The people are friendly as well, and after you are certified they have regular dive trips that they make very affordable so there are ample opportunities to go on dives even for the most frugal person.

He was very knowledgable and took the time to suggest some other dive sights that I might be interested in ( I have over 40 yrs of diving experience). Great service. I was looking for a new mask. The owner made suggestions and eventually assist me in getting one that fit perfect. I have used it both during recreational dives and technical training operations and was completely satisfied with my selection. What a great Dive Center! They are knowledgeable, friendly, caring and honestly care about you and want to bring you into their dive "family". Our kids are getting certified together with us and I wouldnt go anywhere else! They have incredible dive trips to join in on, travel opportunities and great gear for sale on their store!
