I have a weakness for diners. Its true. Theres something about that "salt-of-the-earth" honesty that I fall for every time. Maybe its having watched Alice when I was a kid. Who knows. Regardless, when a diner is an option - Ill opt for a diner. So - on this special day, I lunched at The Coffee Shop (check out the history - its pretty cool). sizes on the inside are diminutive - much like a 737-300. Its readily apparent when visiting the mens room that people in the mid-fifties were still human-sized. My 2XL self was having difficulties navigating the pathway to/from the toilets. Another proclivity of mine is sitting at the bar - right behind the short-order cook. On this day, I had the pleasure of watching the action in real time. I ordered a rib-eye medium rare, but soon learned they were out of ribeye so I changed it up to the river trout. I should have ordered the trout from the get-go. Absolutely fantastic. It came with O.K. fries (I didnt eat them). the trout was perfectly fried with no hint of oily taste. that means they change the oil out regularly. The decor is honest and true to the locale.

Arrived at 12:50pm. Most of lunch crowd cleared out. Waitress came at 1pm, ordered coffee and pie. At 1:15pm waitress finally came and told us lemon meringue pie was not quite ready. Asked for ticket for coffee to pay and go, she said that will be $3.00. Didnt fill out ticket, dont know if money went in her pocket or register...never had problems there until today. Waitress never took money before, always paid at register...always 5 star rating from me until today....Gary needs to ck on waitresses taking cash for meal without tickets...

Currently at The Coffee Shop and am incredibly disappointed. I have been sitting here for 15 minutes and I havent even seen a menu or gotten my drink ordered. They are very disorganized. While the food may be good, everything else is a mess. UPDATE: I held out hope that the food would be good, spoiler: it wasnt. My hash browns were undercooked and my eggs were slimey. I have to this establishment before, but they have really gone downhill. I would definitely not recommend eating here.

This place USED to have good food. I am a local who has eaten here since childhood. Its just not what it used to be. I have to wonder everytime I decide to give it another shot... just why everyone thinks its so good. Is it because people has had so much of the same ole junk and fast foods that they have forgotten what food is supossed to taste like? Its not horrible but it is not the best food around nor is it that good anymore. Hopefully that will change

Love the coffee shop! Im vegetarian, so everywhere I go I have to get a grilled cheese and everywhere I go they serve me a half melted cheese sandwich. The coffee shop served me a WARM MELTED grilled cheese and had meat-free options on the veggie board. Love it!

Pies are delicious so maybe extra star for them. Food was awful, pork loin all fat and bone and.tough. potato salad tasted like used old mealy potatoes. Order the pie and take it with you.

I stood in the store for 5 minutes and nobody addressed me. Furthermore, I walked by some peoples tables and their food looked greesy, mushy, and sub-par. Wouldnt recommend it.
