As a company that provides products or services, I understand I have to stand behind what I sell. I wish Speedpro Raleigh and Ward Martin had the same values. I bought 2 products from Speedpro and Ward Martin that were unusable and Speedpro Raleigh made attempts to stand behind these products, but in the end they did not give us a product that was usable even ONE time. Mistakes happen, products fail. I get that, but it is what you do to make it right that gives the measure of a person or company. Example 1, bannerstands. We bought 2. One did not work from day 1. Ward took them back a couple times to fix them, but they still did not work. We asked that he replace the hardware, which he says he did. It still did not work. He said he was done. What was he supposed to do, keep fixing it? He said we should have bought the more expensive one or a warranty. Hmmm. Maybe so, but this was several hundred dollars, not ten and it should have at least worked ONCE for our client. So after being told he wouldnt stand behind his product, (seething) I took it to another vendor and paid them to fix it. Because no matter how poor his service was to me, I wouldnt let my client down even if it cost me money. The fix worked. Now why couldnt Speedpro have done that? Example 2 - trade show banners. We put up the banners that Speedpro did for our client the night before the trade show. By morning the center panel was on the floor. We called and Ward gave us ideas for tape to use...we bought what we could and went to the trade show ourselves to fix it. That tape didnt stick, so Wards guys came out with their super duper tape. It didnt work. So my client had to constantly retape the banner so it stayed up during the show (not easy). Ward said hed replace it with a stitched banner. We were happy and said thanks! Fast forward - banner is produced and Ward calls to let us know the fabric cant be stitched. Shouldnt he have told us this in advance? We would have changed it. So he says theyll put on a super duper glue or tape. Do you think it held? NO. Not even overnight as we tested it at the office (didnt want the same thing to happen at the show to the client). So we called Speedpro and they were rude to us and said wed have to pay to get anything else done. That was all they would do. Seething again, I took this to another vendor at my own expense to fix. Since tape and glue didnt work, we had it stapled to a pole painted the same color as the booth it got strapped to the next day. What we did for our client WAS good service. We stood behind the product and gave a solution that worked. Speedpro only wanted to help when it was easy. I will NEVER buy from Speedpro again and I will tell everyone I can of the experience I had.
