I cannot say enough good things about Ninth Street Flowers. Stephanie did the flowers for my wedding 2 weeks ago. They were absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. Both Stephanie and Larry, the owner were professional, responsive, and available to help me with any questions I had. I was on a bit of a budget but of course still wanted everything to be beautiful. I had bridal party bouquets, small centerpiece displays, flowers on my cake, and a decorated arch for the ceremony. All were a mixture of unique brightly colored flowers as well as grasses, vines, and other plants that added different textures. Stephanie helped me to plan exactly what I wanted while staying in my budget. She was more than happy to suggest ways I could shave off a few dollars here and there without any noticeable difference in the arrangements. I think what impresses me the most is how she could take my general ideas and make them into something tangible. As a bride, it is scary to try and describe to someone what it is that you want but not be able to actually see a finished product until the day of your wedding! But when I saw the bouquets, I would not have changed a thing....definitely the highlight of the decor. I highly recommend 9th St Flowers for their skill, value, and excellent customer service.

My experience with this shop was a while back but I am finally writing a review! I called Ninth Street Flowers to see what Valentines Day prices were going to be...believe it or not they were the same as they are normally!! I know that normally florist shops mark their prices up like 4 times what they normally are, but when i talked with the gentleman at the store he said that they were keeping the prices the same. I was really greatful for this because in this economy its hard to pay $100 for some roses. He also assured me that the quality was going down, which i most surely believe. I have used Ninth Street Flowers before and i have been nothing but impressed, and now that they are not going to try and gouge me in these hard times, my loyalty is really with them. If you dont where to get flowers for your other i really would recommend Ninth Street Flowers. If i remember correctly a doz. roses is only 69.99 which is amazing compared to the 100-150 from other places! Thanks!!!

I was the recipient of a bouquet from Ninth Street florist almost two weeks ago and the majority of it is still alive, vibrant and smelling great! I have never had a bouquet last this long, and they included an awesome mix of flowers. Their roses look fake because they are so perfect, and the freesias and lilies last forever. The greenery they use for filler is also unique and attractive, and the vase is very attractive -- not your standard inexpensive looking old fashioned throwaway vase. Even the stems are perfectly arranged to be attractive.

I really do think that 9th Street is the best florist in Durham...I have used them personally and professionally for arrangements and have never been disappointed. I work for Duke University Chapel and we have a lot of florists come through for weddings and Sunday flowers, but 9th Street flowers are consistently my favorite...they have a true eye for design. Today I ordered centerpieces for a retirement party and I think we were complimented on the floral arrangements more than any other dimension of the party. You will not be disappointed!

I ordered a plant to be sent to the funeral home - the day of the viewing. I asked to make sure they had something on such short notice. She assured me they had a nice blooming azaela. Well, when I got the funeral home that night. I was embarrassed - it was a small plant in a hugh basket. Not pleased at all.

A friend of mine passed away on Sunday and all I wanted was a small simple vase of flowers to let her know I was thinking about her. Because they are in full "Valentines mode," they wouldnt do anything for less than $100. Possibly the greediest people Ive encountered since moving to Durham 4 years ago.

I have used this florist for two years for various family members. The flowers are always fresh and lovely. They do stellar arrangements and are willing to talk to you about what you want and how much you want to pay (but remember that tax is not included in the price). I have never been disappointed.

Non-listed $15 delivery charge. Owner called and informed that the website is changing soon and is hoping to list the delivery charge sooner. Very good customer service. They also clarified how they guarantee flower quality before delivery using local growers (which is rare).

My mother sent me flowers from here and they did a lovely job under the instructions to devote more time on design than on the fanciness/fussiness of the flowers. Got a lovely modern arrangement of Lillies. We will use them again.
