Upon walking into Beauty World I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the store, it’s huge! The selection has under some changes since I started shopping there, I’ll try my best to break it down. WEAVING AND BRAIDING HAIR.They have a well stocked selection of Remi hair, with all the top brands. Prices aren’t lower than anywhere in the vicinity. Regular human weaving and braiding hair selection is good. Again, prices aren’t any lower, actually some brands are more expensive than in other stores or on the web. One of the low points of the store is the synthetic weaving hair selection. They have about 3 different brands, that’s it. Synthetic braiding hair selection is pretty good. WIGS. Recently they expanded their lace wig selection. Seems to be one of the more popular areas of the store. The full wig and half wig selection is very larger. Personally I know they run out of the more attractive wigs, especially half wigs, frequently. They’ll often only have the display wig available and who wants to wear that? HAIR PRODUCTS (INCLUDING NATURAL HAIR PRODUCTS). They have vastly enhanced their selection of natural products and natural hair products. Off the top of my head I know they have Miss Jessies, Mixed Chicks and Jane Carter brand products. I know they also have raw shea butter. If you’re buying a lot of products I recommended getting them off the web, instead of BW. The section has improved, but the stock doesn’t seem to run deep. Basically if all you need is a new bottle of conditioner, get it here. If you’re a product junkie looking for a haul, go elsewhere. Otherwise they have pretty much all other products and brands, from Bronner Brothers, Mizani, Soft Sheen Carson; you name it, they have it. Their stock of combs, wraps, clips, equipment, etc is very good. They also have clothing, accessories, nail care, and a shoe area. The store has ‘security’. I guess they’re there for product security, not customer safety. At times the parking can be filled with beggars and people selling stuff. The employees have the tendency to be rude, which is the main reason I don’t frequent the store as often as I once did. Overall, I’m not entirely impressed with the selection; I guess it all depends on what you’re looking for.

First off the owner KIM was rude and condescending. It was like Ill take American money but I dont like them or have any other uses for those people, they beneath me.Ive been here once after receiving many ads in the mail from this store that I decided to go check them out. Its very convenient to locate since it can clearly be seen right off 301 South. The store is beautiful outside & inside. It looks very modern. Its small in size but well stocked. However, the prices are marked up a lot higher than the other beauty supplies in the area. And I dont mean just a dollar difference. Also the sales associates were rude. When we first walked in they were clearly in the middle of a conversation with each & were laughing hysterically. But as soon as we walk through the door they just look at us & get dealthy quiet. They all three looked right at us & said absolutely nothing, no "hello", no "how can we help you", nothing. They just looked us up & down & made nasty faces. It was weird & I felt uncomfortable. Its like we were inconveniencing them & they just wanted us to leave. One of the ladies had this stank look on her face & when we asked a question she barked at us & rolled her eyes. I walked around the store & noticed they carry some natural products that I usually gave to order exclusively online so it was nice that I can conveniently buy them there but once again ..... The prices.... Even shea moisture was like $11 or $12 when you can buy it for $8 at walgreens or target even when its not on sale. Because of the prices & the customer service I wont be back but maybe your experience will be better than mine.

I went into this store one day and the alarm went off as I entered. I was asked to open my bag because I had a device that needed to be "deactivated". I explained to security that he wasnt deactivating anything in my bag. He then told me he would have to call the manager. I told him to do what he needed to do and I went off to pick up the items I needed. I walked through the store with my 4 year old and picked up what I went for. I was followed through the store by security and then approached my the owner who told me if I didnt let security deactivate whatever was in my bag he would call the police. I told him to go ahead. As I was in line trying to pay for my items the police officer asked me to step to the side. After doing so I was told the store owner could run his business any way he wanted and if I didnt let them go through my bag I would be asked to leave and not return because I would be trespassing. So after I threw the items I had on the floor I left out the store with the police officer on my heels who then followed me all the way to my car and wrote my license plate number down. To say I was angry is an understatement!!

I gave this establishment a rate of 1 out 5 for several reasons. When I first discovered a place that stored so many products and things that held my interest, I was just as excited as a kid at Christmas. As I began to shop, I found that prices were disproportionate to other stores. For inatance, "Curls" gel being $29.99. Also, I purchased hair for 49.99 and happened to actually open the package and pop the elastic band on it, and the owner Kim did not allow me to return, exchange it, or get store credit. The final straw was when I had attempted to return $50 hair the SAME day I purchsed it and was denied because I wet the hair! I bought the hair so that I can covert it to be curly in order to match my own hair. Over $80 gone down the drain. Kim has no mercy. I will NEVER vome her EVER again.

I always liked Beauty World.. but I went in to the store last week with my sister and both of our babies (1&2 yr olds). My sisters daughter decided that she was going to throw a fit inside of the store.. The owner came up to my sister to let her know that kids throwing fits inside the store was not permitted and that if she didnt get her to stop that she would be asked to leave the store.. My niece stopped a couple of seconds after he said that so we continued walking throughout the store.. My daughter then started to cry and I felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed, was the owner going to threaten me to quiet my child or else?.. I mean is it against the law to walk around a store, open to the public with a crying baby? How can you force your child to shut up or else?? I was very very upset.
