Want to have a glimpse at how your grand parents ordered sodas. Ashworth drugs is a wonderful throw back to when the local drug store was the center of activity in downtown. Ashworths offers a real lunch counter serving up remarkable hot dogs and milk shakes as well as other sandwiches. This establishment is part of the historical make-up of downtown Cary, opening in 1957. Ashworths is the corner stone of the Ashworth Village which harbors several other noteworthy shops such as Blue Moon cafe and Serendipity deli. If you go... make sure to try the Orange-aid... it is a true classic. Also, remember to stop in around Christmas and see if you can spot the Elf on the Shelf.

Ashworth Drugs is the place to be in Cary. Its the one place that never changes. Whenever I go there, Im filled with nostalgia. We grew up going there for our medicine, from the yummy pink stuff to cold syrup. The pharmacists offered friendly, helpful advice that got me through a few ailments. They always had a fantastical, enticing collection of kids toys which made every visit worth it, just so I could stare at them. And best of all, their bright red chili dogs, orangeade, and ice cream are divine!

I dont get the opportunity to go here very often since I live in Charlotte but this is a gem of a place. Great Hot dogs and milkshakes and friendly servers, its small and sometimes a little crowded but its worth going to. Very few places like this are left so take advantage of any opportunity to come here.

I love the uniqueness of the interior. That old school feel when Grandma used to take ya for a root-beer float is captured here. The soup & sandwich deal is nice. They are very nice & always smiling. Prices are right!
