SO IMPRESSED with this jeweler. We went here for our wedding bands and I cannot say enough nice things about them! I have a friend in Colorado that could get our bands for very cheap, but we were willing to pay a premium to establish a rapport with a local jeweler. We went into Mayfair, looked around, found some comparable rings and explained our situation to them. The owner came out and spoke with us and appreciated our situation and worked with us on a price that fell within our budget (a GREAT price-- I was so impressed he could almost match what my friend could do for us!). They also were able to take an existing ring and fashion me a brand new one in platinum (the one I liked was in white gold), but keep the diamonds and redesign the profile of the new band for me. Honestly, a lot of work, but they were very willing to do it. They also took a look at my engagement ring for me (there were some things that I wanted to change and my fiance and I werent impressed with the other local jeweler that he used). I wanted them to file down the prongs, and they discovered that my diamond was loose. The jeweler who was doing the work on my rings came out and spoke to me and told me that when I called in the future to ask for him and only speak to him directly (I felt SO taken care of!). I went in a couple of more times and he remembered my name and face everytime. We must have gone over the work that he was doing for both my rings four times so that we were both sure that hed get it right. In the end, he had my engagement ring for less than a day! He filed the prongs down, tightened the stone, sized the ring down (it was still too big) and polished my engagement ring FOR FREE. Granted, yes, we were paying for the wedding bands, but Im still floored that he did all that work on a ring that they didnt even sell me for free (THATS customer service!). He showed me the wax mold for my new wedding band and we discussed the look and the size/feel. It was perfect. I cant WAIT to pick it up! I will be going to Mayfair for ALL our jewelery needs in the future (we know at the very least that we would eventually like to make my engagement ring a trinity for a future anniversary). I wouldnt DREAM of going back to where we went for my engagement ring or anywhere else! The customer service is the best Ive received ANYWHERE and the work he did was perfect. Honestly perfect. Neither my fiance nor I were this excited about my ring the first time we brought my ring home... thats a real testament to the quality and the service. Im sorry this was so long, but I am a very very happy customer and wanted to share my great experience with a wonderful, friendly, and affordable local jeweler!

Their jewelry is beautiful, but the customer service is sub-par at best. The two brothers who own the place (Victor & John) are both great, as is their custom jewelry designer (Chris), but I am consistently disappointed by the female staff members. I am very rarely greeted by them when I enter the store. When leaving, I never hear a "thank you" or "have a nice day." The other day, I showed up ten minutes before closing to pick up my ring (which was resized); Chris had called me earlier to tell me it was ready, and he gave me their hours for the day. I was first ignored as I stood in the doorway, and then greeted by another woman with a stern "Sorry, were closing" and told to come back another time. Another time, when looking at wedding bands, I mentioned that my engagement ring was designed by Chris, and wed be interested in having him do our wedding bands as well. For some reason, she started to question me about my ring ("Are you sure it was designed here? He may have just selected it from our case"), as if she didnt believe me. They have some wonderful jewelry and great talent, but I often feel as though Im not worth their time.

I brought my $1800 Bulava watch (my gift to myself a few years back) into Mayfair (latham) JUST for a new battery, I was told it would take about 10 min. 30 minutes later their repair man Dave, said he will need to keep it longer, may need to IPOXY a piece. When I called the next day he said it was ready to be picked up. I asked what was BROKE on my watch that he needed to GLUE??? Part of the band was broken when he took it apart.. I demanded it go back to Bulava to be looked at. I had to call over 6 weeks later to check the status and DAVE said it was on its way. I asked what was done to it his reply " I dont know! they fixed it.. and charged us $180"... REALLY... you were going to give it back to me as if nothing was wrong with it glued and broken. Dishonest.. I will NEVER buy from Mayfair, nor have anything ever repaired there again...

My girlfriend who lives in the adjoining Glenville area suggested we check out Mayfair when getting appraisals on some diamonds/gold jewelry I had looked on trading in towards a gold bracelet I was looking into getting. I also was getting a larger clasp put on my bracelet she had bought me for Christmas. While there, I was impressed with the Customer Service on a rather busy day (right after the holidays). I was taken care of in a timely and efficient manner. I would recommend Mayfair for anyone looking for a quality Jeweler in the capital region.

My fiance and I came into Mayfair Jeweler the week before our wedding because the band for my engagement ring (from another store, we live out of state) warped when I was removing it. The other store had mostly straightened it out, but Mayfair fixed it completely for us and even cleaned it so it shined beautifully. The people in the store were wonderful!!! It was very generous of them to fix and clean my ring when I didnt even get it from them! Thank you, Mayfair!

I brought in Promise Ring in to get re-finished and re-Rhodiumed to your shop in Glenville, Ny i have to say after reading 163 reviews before coming here and they were all postive and everyone was right. The sevice was out of this world I was treated like I was the only one in the store. It makes me feel good to see that there is still companies out there that does this.

Mayfair is amazing. They fixed my ring to the correct size as the other store could not. We got our wedding bands there. They know the pain I went through with other store and they made me feel so much better.
