By far the best beer store in terms of selection that Ive found upstate. On the east side of Route 9, its located north of the Poughkeepsie Galleria and south of downtown. The store is huge, with a full aisle of American Microbrews, an aisle of Belgian and Germans, an aisle of English and miscellaneous foreign beers, an aisle with macro beers along with Canadian beers and Sam Adams, a glasswear section, some high end stuff by the register, and finally coolers surrounding the whole back of the store with most of the stock chilled there. Its pretty damned epic. As for the service, I found workers to be friendly and somewhat knowledgeable. Seeing the layout of the place and what they were doing in terms of stocking, I could definitely imagine them getting cranky though. Half Times prices are at their best for 4/6 packs of stuff thats either released seasonally or year-round. For instance, $2.50 a bottle for Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is pretty damned stellar. Prices on bombers are also very good. Theres also a counter in the front of the store with discounted beer that theyre looking to be rid of. For more rare stuff thats hard to come by--think Aventinus Eisbock and Ayinger Celebrator--theyre mostly par for the course with a few maybe approaching gouging territory. But considering that you can buy everything in one place while still saving a significant amount of money on average, its all reasonable. Half Time is one more reason for me to visit Poughkeepsie more often.

Wow need I say that John A from Halftime Beverage contacted me in regards to correct the bad service I had received from an employee. It is refreshing to see an owner so concerned with their business image that they take the time and effort to make sure the customer is pleased with their purchase! I have worked in customer service for over 20 years and I must say it is sad how so many businesses fail in this department.I applaud John A and Halftime Beverage to step up to the plate and turn a bad experience into a lifetime customer, you can bet I will be telling all my friends and family members about Halftime Beverage, their website is wonderful and the selections are huge, now I can also say their customer service is TOP NOTCH! I was in the area and had heard about the great selection of beer at Half Time. We stopped in and were blown away! Being from PA, there were many breweries that we simply could not get locally. Overall they had a great selection, and all of the staff knew their stuff. Its worth noting that the really good stuff is behind the register. And you should ask whats new. I still found a lot of great beers that I had been looking for on the shelves too! Also, they have a clearance section...I have never seen a store near me with a clearance beer table. Great beers that are out of season for pennies to the dollar! Needless to say, I loaded up!

A world/craft beer supermarket and its super amazing. Not only they carry pretty much everything thats possibly available in the east coast distribution market but they also have a great variety of beer available to can and go for a fresh tap taste. They have a great menu filled with exclusive brews to can in 32 ozs or fill multiple size growlers to go. They then take its game to the next level. They also carry in an entire isle everything you need to brew your own beer. Everything from yeast to tubes to gallon glass screw-top jugs-Great for fermenting. I will be returning again to pick up some more delicious gems.

These folks are very helpful on the phone. I have used the "beer of the month" clubs for gifts in the past, and the selections are excellent.... but I will say to HT: Please re-engineer the pay side of your web site. I waste a lot of time each time I "try" to buy from you. I end up having to just call and do things old school. I dont mind that, but I sure wish I didnt waste so much time on the web site. I think there are issues that you may not be aware of that result in failures to process orders in the checkout process.

Far and above the best beer store in the milky way Galaxy. Although the newer mamaroneck location is larger, this is the original and is impressive in its scale and dedication to beer. Taps for growlers, a Belgian section that will knock your socks off (so bring an extra pair), and a dizzying array of local and u.s. crafts. Also beer making equipment, hard cider out the ying-yang, plenty of cold stuff in fridges. And cigars. If you havent done your research before, the staff is helpful.

Ordered from them back in October. I live in Iowa and understood that shipping would possibly take awhile. Never recieved a UPS tracking number and had to basically beg for help on email. After calling the actual store in New York, I was helped. My question is...why even have the internet side of your business if the customer service is poor? Half time is wasting a golden opportunity with this, and the complaints about this part of their business is piling up.

Ive been getting all the beers I cant get in my state from Half Time for years now. I found out about them when my wife signed me up for one of their beer of the month clubs. Occasionally Ill order something that is out of stock. When this happens I immediately get a phone call or an email asking me for if I want a substitution or a refund. Their customer service is awesome and they ship their orders quickly. I cant say enough good things about them.

I was so excited to find a coveted beer wed been looking for - loaded up my shopping cart and was prepared to order. "Total cost" before and after tax was displayed during this process - not bad. When it actually came time to purchase, you then learn that it is $29.99 for shipping IN THE SAME STATE, even for as little as 4 bottles (4 pack=13.99$). Cancelled my order. My beer excitement was crushed.

This place is any beer lovers dream come true... so much variety and they do awesome tastings all the time. Love their themed beer gift baskets too... ordered a couple for colleagues and it was definitely a favorite that stood out among the usual birthday office cakes.

If you havent been inside Half Time yet, go now. Best selection of beer Ive ever seen. All the guys are friendly and knowledgeable. Made great suggestions on new beers based on what I told them I liked. I hear their Mamaroneck store is even bigger, go figure!

A must stop shop for beer lovers. Ive long time considered myself a beer connoisseur, but this place made me feel like a college freshman again. With a robust selection and a staff eager to please, Half Time is the go to destination for any and all things beer.

Great selection, but DO NOT USE THEM TO SHIP. Ordered one case of beer for a thank you for a colleague. Made it all the way to "confirm order." Case was $29.95. Ground shipping to Indiana was $59.95. HOLY COW. I cancelled immediately.

NEVER AGAIN will I use HALFTIME BEVERAGE . Called to fined out if shipped & get a tracking # . I was told to call back after Christmas. What good does that due. I placed the order in Nov. They offered NO help what so ever.
