So I went to Super Stop & Shop Orangeburg NY and once again, no bags at the self check out registers. None of them. I actually photgraphed their vacant place and they are attached. This has been the ongoing case for months. So I called the corporate office to share my concern and they assured it would be addressed. It was hit and miss since then. Last week, the Store Management called me and she apologized and stated it was the cashiers job to fill them every shift change. I shared that one of their associated told me they were on reserve, which she denied, and now I will prove that the associate was correct. So today, October 2nd, around 6 PM, I went to the store and snapped these pics as I was checking out with only "1" yes, 1 bag and groceries in need of four. All of the other registers around me were in the same shape. My register was #13 (bad sign haha). After completing my transaction, I went to the Super Stop and Shops servcie counter and explianed my concern with the associate behind the counter as to how dismayed I was that it was so ongoing with no change. He told me and I quote: "We have bags but we need to keep them in reserve as its like the peter principle in that if you place them, the clients will take them." he went on to tell me that they take handfulls and so to ensure that there are enough bags for all clients, they only put a few out at a time." (but apparently dont seem to ever replenish them). This is the thought that the manager last week assured me was a lie by the previous assoiate but must be a reality as its now two associates stating the same thing. So since they are more concerned about their own expenses rather than the client needs, I am moving on to ShopRite down the road. They always have bags and they are very service oriented. So sad. Goodbye Super Stop and Shop Orangeburg NY. John

Stop and Shop, Orangeburg, NY is a well - stocked supermarket with a wide selection of the typical items you would find in an American supermarket: Produce, Deli, Meat Counter, Diary Section, Pantry Items, small selection of Toys, Outdoor Items, Closeouts, etc. Stop and Shop, Orangeburg, NY DOES NOT have a dedicated Fish / Seafood Counter, Pharmacy, Digital Printing, Catering, Asian, Hispanic, or Indian Food section (beyond some white - washed items), and it does not offer a Food Buffet, Whole - Foods Style, however it does have a small eat - in area. The clientele are suburban residents, mostly middle - aged or older, with some younger families peppered in. I have not seen "undesirable" customers (aggressive, dirty, snobbish, etc.) The staff can be helpful, but its really hit or miss, depending on who you speak to. I have yet to see the same face twice, meaning in all my visits to Stop and Shop, Orangeburg, NY, I have never seen the same employee twice. Parking is via private lot, in front of the supermarket and can be described as easy. Employees do not ask if you need assistance to your vehicle. There are infant - holding shopping carts, toy car shopping cats, and standard carts. Stop and Shop offers a Rewards Program, where items are discounted if you provide your name and telephone number, and agree to enroll in their Rewards Program. Ive seen savings - ounce per ounce - more competitive that BJs, Costco, or Walmart, but I wouldnt bank on savings in the cleaning or non - perishable section. All in all, a winner.

I believe that the Stop and Shop Orangeburg store had a contest to find the rudest people in the tri-state area. Then they hired the top vote getters. This is the only reason I can think of why the employees have so rude. Sure, at ShopRite, Acme, CVS, etc you might get an occasion employee with attitude but at Stop & Shop, you are guaranteed to get a rude employee.

Just your average run of the mill, big, quality grocery store. Nothing more, nothing less. We stopped here on our way up to Bear Mountain for some snacks and drinks.

The place is clean and organized although the bathroom is a mesd. but the storehave a great selection of food and the staff are very helpfull.
