Completely ripped off at this store today. Do not go to this store if you have other options; and if you do have to use this store, keep your eyes out for some major red flags. Heres what happened: I went to the check out with groceries that were a little over budget, I was worried about this before reaching the check out but the thing is; it was only a couple of dollars after tax that I thought my modest amount of groceries would be over my price range. What wound up happening though, was the price rang up nearly 25 dollars more than what I took off the shelves, before the cashier was even finished scanning. That was red flag number one. Even if the cashier wasnt applying the sales on the items I brought to be scanned, they did not add up to 104 dollars and change like she claimed. Red flag number two was that the cashier refused to let me completely void this transaction, put some things back on the shelf myself, and come back with my items rearranged when I could think about it. This would have been easy, comfortable for us all, and efficient; she would have had to press very few buttons, and I could just turn the cart around back to the aisles and take my time to figure out what had to go back. For no logical reason, she attempted to make it sound like that would have been a worse idea than what happened, making me sort through my groceries item by item, wasting an awful amount of time as she had to punch in subtractions item by item to find out how much my new total was. Sometimes you just have to ask; why are you trying to make obviously the much easier solution sound like it will be less convenient? The answer came in pretty clearly when I found out how things were being subtracted when I had to leave without some of my items. I had one item that had it been subtracted would have put me less than 3 dollars over budget even when I was using the price on a non-inflated version of the fruit salad that I was going to put back, and assuming everything else I had would remain at the higher-than-marked price. And yet, I had to also put back 4 dollars worth of pickles, a 4 dollar package of cookies, at least 5 dollars of yogurt, and a 2 dollar container of lemonade (all of these prices BEFORE TAX mind you) So if you would care to do the math with me, my original false total was 104 and change. I returned 35 dollars before applying the price that should have come off from the sales tax on these items, and yet, the final total I was rung up at was 71 and change. Only about 33 dollars came off of my price. Red flag number four actually came before that final insult. The cashier was pressuring me about how long it took to fix the price and lied to me about how quickly the right solution to this predicament would have been was also continuously trying to get me to put back an item that was less expensive than my most expensive item as if it was the biggest problem. (probably because the item she was trying to force me into putting back didnt have a sales price, but she could lie to me about why I wasnt getting the sales price on the fruit salad). And on top of all of that, now that I got back and had a chance to count all my items, I dont even have 71 dollars worth of groceries, and I added it up using higher prices than I should have been paying on the stuff too. This store, or maybe just that cashier, is blatantly stealing. Ill give a shortened version if you didnt want to read all that: I was grossly overcharged at this location, and the cashier did her best to distract me from the fact that she was entering higher prices for items than she was removing when I put stuff back on the shelves. Blatant theft, pay attention to the tags on your items and your receipts.

I was at the deli today getting some cold cuts and cheese. When the fellow who was cutting the meat moved a dirty trash can closer with his left hand, I asked him to please change his glove to a clean one before handing the meat. He just told me "Dont worry about it" and then handled the meat from the slicer with that hand! I found it so disgusting that not only would I not take the meat, but I put the cheese he had cut into the self service bin and walked away. Until they fix that practice and always use clean gloves if they touch any type of waste disposal container, I will NEVER get deli meats from there again! At least King Kullen a few miles away does change their gloves and tries very hard to to keep everything clean.

Normally I would rate this store a 4 or a 5 but today I saw an apparently homeless man, who was sadly very unkept, hanging around the bakery aisle. Then I saw him handling some rolls with his bare hand and returning them to the bin. He put some items in his large knapsak and left the store. I told a girl at customer service that they needed to discard all of the loose rolls and pastries. She did nothing. I then spoke with a manger and told her the same thing, that all those rolls and pastries needed to be discarded. She gave me a lame "sorry" but did nothing as far as I could tell. I put my pastry back but felt terrible for all the customers who would unknowingly buy from those bins later that day. How awful.

Really bad experience they make me wait in solution center while I was carrying my baby because they couldnt make the transaction just because They said were to many coupons when it wasnt the first time that I used all of them. They didnt wanted to split the purchase and also they didnt have the respective coupons after purchase finished. If they dont know what to do ask but ask to somebody that really knows because is so stupid talk between them or ask to people that dont know their job, supposed to know how to manage everything and even more in solution center or cashier. Thanks for nothing

Very rude staff. Whenever I asked a few of the employees where something was they either didnt know where it was or rolled there eyes to tell me. And the younger employees are busy on there cell phones, when I went to check out the young lady told me to hold on because she was sending a text message. Whatever happened to people being kind. Thats why I try to go to family owned markets because they go out of there way to show you were the products are and dont roll there eyes doing it.

I stopped shopping here for two years and then when i heard about bew management i returned to give a try. I was very happy to see there were change in the people there. Much friendlier a sense of urgency. I noticed Sabrina your new front end she is fantastic. She was friendly and cared about my concerns about the store before she came. The manager Frank and service manager Nicole is wonderful. Thank you so much im back shopping at Stop and Shop.

Regular shopper here. Friendly staff, well stocked, great variety, & clean. Tends to be a bit expensive if youre not shopping carefully. Use coupons & circulars. Still cheaper than Whole Foods by a long shot
