Clean, fresh, and affordable Korean supermarker all the way out in Hicksville, NY. Its the best in town because its the only one in town! HAHA But yeah, my girl and I have gone here for a wide selection of things we cant usually find at a mainstream supermarket - especially in Long Island. So kimchi, toased seaweed (gim), microwaveable rice (hetban), Juk, assorted banchan, makgeolli, soju, different panckaes (pajeon), tons of exceptionally well-maintained meats and seafood. They also sell rice cookers, cutlery and dishware. My gf is from Korea and she loves to come here, and so do I. The last amazing thing I got here was a jar of citrus preserves used to make tea. So delicious (massiseoyo!)! Since many of the items are imported or at least from out of state, the prices reflect this premium. Join their membership club for free to get points to be redeemed for discounts. On weekends, they have the staff providing free samples of a lot of different items like cooked meats, dumplings, sauces, pancakes, matcha, you name it ;) Dont feel guilty for not buying the sampled stuff, just try it if youre a newcomer. So Korean people living near Hicksville, this is a great option for imported items from Korea. US citizens, broaden your horizens and get your Korean food and drink on at H&Y Mart.

The selections here are surprisingly broad. I usually go for Japanese foods and to date, the only item I thought they didnt have was one I just didnt notice on the shelves (the staff are helpful and polite: its worth asking for help). I might complain about how the organization was confusing in that one case, but honestly, on the whole the organization is very good. If you want Japanese snacks or umeboshi (both of which Id recommend), the isle you want is pretty immediately apparent. If youre looking for ingredients for an udon, or just ochasuke, this makes a pretty good first stop. Prices are middling good. Some things (like Nishiki rice) I can get cheaper on Amazon, but things like that are rare. Usually the prices offered are the cheapest I could easily get things like this: sometimes by a wide margin. That does not mean things are cheap. But on average it seems like I pay less here than I would getting this stuff any other way.

Good clean store for you Asian food needs. Plenty of candy and J-snack for even the most rabid of anime fan. Saturday & Sunday are the days to come for free samples! Produce & seafood quality hasnt disappointed me yet. I like the fact that even on the weekends this store is not as packed as the Hmart in Jericho. As much as I dont like to admit it, Ive found the one or two complaints about there being a language barrier between management and non-Korean customers to be justified. If youre going to come here, you may want to do any product research ahead of time. If youre uncomfortable with possibility of not being able to speak to a staff member, you may have no other option but to spend the extra time at Hmart.

Good selection of Korean and Chinese foodstuffs. Items on sale are cheap, regular prices are okay not great. On the 1st day of the month there is a Buy One Get One Free sale for a lot of items. Fresh seafood department, prices cheaper than regular supermarkets. Standard selection of the usual Korean beers, OB, Cass, and Hite. Some soju also. A Korean restaurant, Koreana, is in the front, serving the standards and Korean fried chicken. Also a Korean bakery, Canaan, that has breads, cake, pastries, and a cafe. Inside in the front is a Sushi counter, towards the end of the day they have sushi and sashimi 2 for $10 or 2 for $15. Theres also a pharmacy and a K-Beauty store inside.

Interesting variety of exotic unusual foods. Prices looked a little high though and the packages tended to be too large for a single guy. Do I really want 17 servings of rice vermicelli? Since so many of the products were strange to me, I wished they served samples and demonstrated recipes like at the large Japanese market in River Edge, NJ, but H&Y didnt do that. The aisles were narrow and crowded. The bakery/coffee shop at the front was a welcome respite.

Good store for Korean and Japanese snacks and groceries. They are very clean and very well organized. They also have a good variety of Korean and Japanese beers. There is a separate Sushi bar and bakery at this location, annexed to the store itself. Theres not many check out counters so there maybe lines. The parking lot is dilapidated as of 2016 with several potholes, uneven path and overall a poor shape. Dont let that stop you from shopping here however ;)

Best seafood department in the Bethpage area, but if you dont read or speak Korean, shopping can be frustrating. Employees and customers always seem friendly, but most cant help me because of the language barrier. Still, if youre into cooking, its worth it to put in the extra effort. Also, best produce department around. I also like that they permit evangelism on their property. Thank You Jesus!

I went to visit on the new year and havent been back since the opening of H Mart in Jerricho. I have to say I am very disappointed with their bogo deals. They are still jacking up prices to make it seemed like it is a great deal but it is not. The lines are much shorter than before and not many deals worth visiting anymore. Ill be surprised if this place is still around in 2018.

Worst Customer service. Guys at the sea food section are very rude. and if you go to customer service to complain, they will give you a runaround from person to person and in the end will tell you," Sorry, manager is not here." In the parking lot people break your side mirrors while parking or pulling out. One of the worst place to shop.

It is the worst place ever I have been to. 1. Every 1st of the month they hold a special 1 + 1, but most of the products are garbage except few of them. And also they put much higher price than their usual on that day. It is deceiving the customers. I promise that I will not ever visit this place ever in my life. Beware.

Very spacious and product quality got better. They offer discount price on fruits and you can get good deals on certain fruits. It depends on the days that you go. Its better to make a free membership card. You can collect the points every time you spend and get a coupon after you reach certain points.

The customer service here is horrible. The manager has no idea how to treat customers. She never apologizes for any mistakes and says I should deal with it because things happen. Im Korean and Im ashamed this kind of service is in my neighborhood.

Good Korean food options here. Food may not be cheap but if you need any Asian ingredients for your meals I would recommend going here. This place has decent parking and not overwhelming packed.

Good selection of Asian groceries. This grocery focuses on Korean products. They do carry some Chinese and other Asian cuisine items, but only the most common ones such as sauces.

Only Korean grocery store in a pretty big radius. I think the closest one to here is in Flushing, though an H Mart is supposed to open pretty close soon in Hickseville.
