These reviews are not BS, this place is top notch all the way. I have two main gripes with most bike shops, employees that dont know their stuff and high prices. Action Sports has neither has neither of these. Matt the owner is usually the only one working and this guy knows his stuff. I do most of my own work, but trust him for stuff that I wont do. I also try to buy my parts from him whenever possible, his prices do often beat the internet retailers. Hes friendly and you can pick his brain a bit too (if hes not too busy). There are usually a few cyclists hanging out in there talking bikes. For a small shop, they have good inventory that runs the gamut of what a bike shop should carry. Road, MTB, cruiser/commuter, etc. Casual bike riders to hardcore cyclists are covered. There are only two small drawbacks to this place. One is hours, they close kind of early (5:30pm on weeknights) and the only time they are open on weekends is Saturday until noon. If you plan ahead this is a non-issue. The other slight drawback is that since it is primarily a one man operation, you might have to wait a few minutes for help, but when its your turn you will be taken care. Ive never had the fact that this is a one man operation affect how long it takes a bike to get serviced though, I think a lot of after hours wrenching takes place. Ive bought 2 bikes and lots of parts/clothing/accessories from here and will do so again in the future.

I would like to thank the tech at Action Sports for removing the freewheel I didnt have the tool for. Unfortunately that is the end of my praise. I also took my Mongoose Dolomite to the shop to have a damage report written on my stripped deraileur mount. Perhaps he didnt hear me when I said I was willing to pay for the statement of damage to the mount. Perhaps he didnt understand that Pacific Cycles requested/required the report to send me a new frame. He definately crossed the line when he called my bike "cheap" and offered to sell me a Specialized brand bicycle costing in excess of $1,500. Its been said that online sales and chain stores are killing mom and pop businesss. I went to him specifically to support a local business... Degrading my bike and refusing to help resolve a warentee issue is no way to generate a sale! Is any one paying attention to the little guys comitting suicide?

The best place in the area for bicycle sales and service! A pleasure to work with, and service after the sale is exceptional! I bought my bike from Matt 4 years ago and last year I converted it to electric. Matt was more than happy to help me with my project. Always great advice! Do yourself a favor, if you are in the market for a new bike, see Matt. He is a professional bike rider, knowledgeble, experienced and an all around good guy!

If youre looking for cycling or ski/snowshoeing gear, by all means head over to head over to Action Sports! Matt will take care of you—he has a great selection, expert knowledge, and its a much friendlier environment than any big box sporting goods store. You wont be disappointed, and youll be very happy to support a great local business. Their service and support is fantastic as well.

Went in looking for a hybrid bike and was met by one of the owners. She was friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the products she was selling. They had a limited selection, and none in my size. When I asked to take a test ride on a slightly smaller bike, she said I could not because it was sprinkling. I left disappointed, especially because I drove 40 minutes to get there.

Just got off the phone with Matt. I wanted to order an 09 specialized p.2, we discussed the MSRP that I saw online for a moment and these were his words "The internet? Oh, I can beat the internets price." He quoted me a buck 25 lower than the MSRP. Great deal. He sounded very enthusiastic and personable. It was easy to tell he appreciated my business.

Matt Belknap is a bike and canoe racer turned entrepreneur who has now been at it at least a dozen years. The shop is a small operation with a slightly limited selection, but all that is made up for by the best service anywhere. Matt knows his work as a mechanic and gets it right at reasonable prices every time.

This is the place to go if you are into Biking. Matt actually rides weekly so you can talk to him about the local scene. They have excellent customer service and competitive pricing. This store is what a bike shop should be.
