I purchased a truck from Ellis auto group. 6242 Jericho tpk commack on 3/1/2016. Within 1 mile the engine light came on, 5 miles the speedometer stopped working, by the time i got home there was a heavy smell of diesel fuel. took to my mechanic and he said codes were cleared 3 codes came up involving the turbo charger. also low coolant came up on dash which dealer said they fixed. took truck back on 3/2/2016 they agreed to a full refund which i have in writing. i paid $23,000. for the truck. $19,344 was a check from a my insurance co that was signed over to them plus $3342 in cash. they said they would refund when check cleared. on 3/7/16 they registered the truck in my name 5 days after they agreed to a refund. called police 3/9/16. legally i had to take truck off his lot. drove truck home, speedometer still not working, mechanic said dash cluster was bad, engine light no longer comes on even when you first put key in the whole dash should light up. all lights work accept engine light, buyer beware of this dealership

I didnt end up buying a car, so I cant speak about the quality of the inventory. My review is low because I got a price online and confirmed via phone, however once I was actually getting near to buying suddenly theres $1400 added (dealer fee, taxes, DMV charges, etc). For a car priced at about $3800, this is a huge change. Also, the salesperson initially was OK with me wanting to have a mechanic check the car before buying but then later was giving me flack for it. Based on this experience, I dont recommend car shopping here. Certainly be wary of any prices you see online from this place.

I have ever had bad experience about this dealer to buy the car. I requested them to provide me CARFAX. But they did not. I collected my own cost and found one recall open. Before going there I called and spoke to Jack and Justin and asked them couple of times is there any problem or any damage in the 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5 X Premium vehicle? They denied and said nothing damaged and wrong. Any way I went over their show room with my cousin to check the car, found windshield was cracked. I asked him "do you know about recall your car and what it is. He replied "I dont know".

Dont listen to the fake reviews on here. Employees, friends, etc. writing fake reviews. These guys sell lemons and thats pretty much the end of the story. Cars are unsafe to be on the road. They dont do what they promise. They clear codes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Nothing libelous about the truth: Ellis Automotive having codes cleared (mechanic verified such), selling a vehicle with leaking fuel lines, coolant leak, a sporadic speedometer, etc. The lemon law doesnt apply, hence they cannot be in violation. This is a simple case of fraud, not the lemon law.

Bought a car from this dirt bag salesman,not only did he not pay for my trade in 30 days after I purchased it, he also didnt register my new car 2 months after I bought it, resulting in my car getting inpounded for faulty registration because the temporary registration expired. Dmv said registration should be submitted 5 days after purchase of vehicle. He waited 2 months.. This dealership is a absolute joke.

They got me approved in a day but I decided not to go on with the purchase. Im still waiting for my refund on my down payment its been over two weeks. Worst place to buy a car. They will say and do anything to sell but can care less about there customers. BEWARE!!!
