I witnessed some INSANE racism here on 7/1/17!!! I was in the store around 8:45 p.m. grabbing a bottle of wine with a few female friends when I saw the owner of the store actively trying to bar a group of three black men from entering. He tried to lock them out at first, and then wouldnt let them come in until he individually checked all of their IDs (he did nothing of the sort when I and other white customers came in). He made some offhand comment about how many of them there were--I was with two other friends as well, and he said nothing to us about how many of US there were. The guys werent doing ANYTHING wrong at ALL--they just calmly tried to walk in like any other customer. The owner eventually let them in, but he locked the door behind them and followed them around the store. It was disgusting. Id already bought my bottle of wine, but the entire incident was so BLATANTLY racist that I urge everyone not to give this guy their business.

today, october 1, 2010, after an in store tasting, I purchased my first bottle of spiced rum and within ten minutes of leaving the store the bag carrying the bottle broke and the glass shattered everywhere. When i returned to the liquor store located at 797 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, the store owner Thomas Walsh rudely refused to replace the bottle which i had just paid $26 for and forced me to walk back another 25 minutes to retrieve the broken bottle top which i had left amongst the broken glass on the sidewalk. I was completely enraged. I had just come from a long day of physical labor and needed to unwind and this totally ruined my day. I do not make a lot of money so for me to waste my money and energy on a simple bottle of rum that I already felt was overpriced is completely disheartening.

Unpretentious, a vast selection of wines and spirits. I found a 2005 Medoc for cheap, maybe it was a mismark. The wine was excellent, sharp and solid textures of the terroir. I was able to find what I was looking for, after asking one of the sales reps. Too much inventory maybe?

Came here to grab two bottles of wine right as they were closing. Spoke with the owner and he helped pick out a bottle of red and white. As I was checking out realized I had no cash on me and he was kind enough to stay open as I ran to the ATM to get cash.

This is a great place for wines, with more variety than the other ones near by. However, I have passed 2 days in a row in front of the store and it was closed. It would great and appreciated if the opening hours would be posted somewhere!!!

They have a good selection of liquors and a so-so selection of wines. I did buy a $25 bottle of bordeaux and it was corked, but they were good about letting me exchange for another bottle. I would go back.
