I enjoy small museums that focus on a single part of the world. The Bayshore Center is hyper-focused on the oyster industry of the 1900s. Its informational with a wide variety of artifacts. The one improvement I would make is explaining the ecology and ecosystems of the bay.

Historic NJ location with interactive learning, restaurant, sites, & atmosphere. Welcoming, knowledgeable staff. Truly a unique experience. A "must" for oyster lovers. Free parking. I recommend calling ahead or checking out website for seasonal times & activities.
