This store has been a part of the community for a long time. They offer a reasonable variety and a very reasonable price, and Ive been impressed by their meat selection and quality. However, their service has always made it a difficult decision to go in. Ive been yelled at for coming in 20 min before closing, with the butcher yelling " I told you we should have locked the doors...", rolling his eyes, and interrupting my " May I please have" with a loud "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!" (I know that end of day feeling, but its a small store, and Im almost never in there longer than 5 minutes. Regardless, yelling a patron should never be acceptable. ) There are the cashiers that refuse eye contact, and do not speak to you at all. Ive even initiated to try to be friendly with a "Hi, how are you today?". There are at least two that will ignore that completely, but hear and respond to you when you ask this weeks sale on eggs. Ive tried this at least a dozen times. (I was taught as least a "hello" was part of good customer service.) There was the time when they ran out of a deli meat on sale, the clerk in the meat department recommended a particular honey smoked substitute. I was happy! He said its a great quality and I trusted that it was. As I move on and peruse the chicken, I hear another patron request the same meat that he had just sold me. The clerk then said that he should not try it, explaining that is was of poor quality, very dry, etc. Why was it recommended to me?? And a simple request to change a $20 turning into a recommendation that I **do not return**. I paid debit, received cash $50 back, and asked if he could break (1) $20. He declined, I asked if he could instead break the (1) $10. I was told he had no fives, tens, or ones; implying that if I had attempted to pay with this aforementioned $20 or $10 bill, (4:00 in the afternoon, 8 hours into the day), that he would have no means by which to give me my change. I will say that, till that point, I had turned the other cheek, and ignored every slight Id received thus far. However, Im ashamed to say that I did respond with "This is the only store I know that doesnt hold change". The reply from a cashier bagging was "Well dont come back." Ive always said to respond to poor treatment with kindness, and had done so for every incidence except the last. Most people in this world would be less rude or at least act tolerant, if not friendly, in return. But Ive never felt anything but unwelcome in this store, and that outweighs their best cut of meat. Ive never been rude to them or given them reason to hold any animosity against me. I also havent ever walked in wearing a suit.(maybe thats the problem?) These events didnt happen in a week, or in a month. This review is a result longstanding, habitual treatment that has spanned at least 2 years. One cant excuse them all as "bad days", though I did for the longest. Its a shame that Ill have to drive past this store to one 15 minutes away the next time I run out of milk. But Im sure they wont mind.

NEEDS SOME TLC - this place has some good prices but what a dump! Its dirty and so cramped you cant get a cart through an aisle without another person having to back up. The staff are snooty and not helpful at all when you ask a question or need help. I nearly got my head bit off by a checker when I questioned a price and also about a coupon I had! And, they must be trying to save money on bags (they pack them so heavy Ive had them break when lifting them into the car). I always try to support the smaller businesses but I wont cry for them if they are finally forced out of business by the bigger chains. Management needs to take a close look at the condition of this store and also keep a closer eye on the employees (they need some customer service training to say the least)!

0000000 STARS!!!! If I could vote 0 stars I would!!! I go in there a few times a year and when I do the manager always has an attitude and theyre way too expensive. I forgot something while at register and the cashier who was the manager gave a look like "really"

This place smells like fried asss -They must take lessons in being rude because the staff all opertates with an A+ in acting like you are there interupting them while they chew gum with thier mouths open and talk about people.

Great old school atmosphere. Never had a problem with the staff. The butcher shop is the best. Yes the aisles are small, but thats part of the "small town store" feel I like.

Convenient because its close to home and small. Prices seem a little high. Store is tight in places and hard to get around sometimes.
