We plan to contact the attorney general to get our money back. This company is deceptive in its business practices and participates in bait and switch tactics to get you to buy their products. We ordered a vanity set for $190 or so and FREE SHIPPING -- but as soon as we got an email confirmation of the order it was noted in the order CONFIRMATION that the shipping company might charge us a service charge. When we looked at the fee total, it was going to be about $175 for shipping, which in effect doubles the price of the item. In addition the claims process if your furniture is damaged in transit looks to be a royal headache filled with loopholes that YOU have to pay for. This is NOT FREE SHIPPING. We found it in two other places online for $235 or so with no additional shipping fees, confirmed by the companies offering it. We looked into cancellation at Unitech / The Furniture Authority, and found that they demand a 30 percent restocking fee/cancellation fee! We sat online on their online help chat for 45 minutes and on hold for an hour or so trying to get through to cancel the order anyway but no one did ever get on the chat with us or pick up the phone. We also immediately sent an email to cancel the order. Even though they had not even (ten days later) shipped our item, theyre just getting back to us now and reminding us that we have this 30 percent cancellation/restocking fee that we supposedly agreed to. You cant make people check a box that says essentially "you might have to pay a bunch more than our stated price if you agree to buy this product from us." And then penalize them for not wanting to pay double the price you advertised. Incidentally they DO have a price match guarantee, which means we might be able to TRY matching the price to the other merchants we found which includes the TRUE free shipping, BUT... for most price matching guarantees, you have to have the exact same model, and the other two merchants call the color either cherry or walnut, while the Furniture Authority calls it "Oak" and I have found NO other merchants selling the wood grain pattern under OAK. So clever. NOT.

They cant be beat on their price but dont expect 2 day delivery. They state clearly up front that it will be 1 to 4 weeks before the item ships. We ordered 3 items hoping that we would receive them at our new house before we moved which would have been right at 4 weeks. The 2 night stands were available but the TV stand arrived damaged at the local warehouse and couldnt be delivered. Then it was no longer available. When I was told that all 3 items had to be delivered together and was offered alternatives for the item that was no longer available, I was very apprehensive that we would have to get something we didnt really want since we couldnt get what we ordered. Through emails and a phone call, I requested that they go ahead and and deliver the 2 night stands to us and that we would look at the other items they were offering as a substitution for the TV stand. They agreed to do that. The substitutions they offered were similar in color but not anything we wanted. When I told them that, they said they would check to see if any dealer in the other states had the original item them ordered. This worried me again. I just wanted a refund for the item no longer available and told them that. Today, they issued the refund for the item they couldnt get. Everything worked out fine. All of my nightmare scenarios of not being able to get what we ordered and not being able to get a refund were for nothing. They actually ended up being very helpful and accommodating. So if you want the best possible price and dont mind waiting up to a month to receive your items, order from them. If you want guaranteed stock and a guaranteed quick delivery date - order from Amazon and pay 25% more for it.

Not a big user of Google plus, but I wish I had seen these reviews before making a purchase from this company. I purchased a dining room table from this company that matched my chairs perfectly. I was not decieved by any "free shipping" stunts as other users were. I paid an additional $105.00 in shipping to have 3 burly men and myself (much less burly) bring the table from the truck into my home. I opened the box up right away. The table was broken in multiple places. Truck driver told me that I would have to take this up with the vender. So I take photos of the damage and email them right away. No reply by following week. I try calling them; voicemail. Online chat has been Offline every time I visit the website. I emailed them again from their Contact Us section; guaranteed reply in 48 hours. 4 days later, still no reply. I wrote them a message on Facebook. Sent them a tweet. No reply what-so-ever. Finally I contacted the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and let the BBB try to contact them. They did not respond to whatever attempts the BBB made to contact them. My case was closed after a month with suggestions to contact the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. I have mailed my dossier off to them but have very low expectations that anything will be resolved. I can only hope that this testimony serves to warn others against making a purchase through this vender.

We received our order the same day! The delivery man who brought it was very courteous and pleasant. Unfortunately we were not advised of the policy that if we elected curbside delivery that we must unpack and inspect our item for damage right there on the sidewalk. We safely got it up to our apartment, destroyed the box to open it, and noted a cracked drawer and another drawer with a crooked track (so it did not close flush). We contacted Furniture Authority and were told we must bring the item back to the warehouse for inspection if wed like a replacement. This was not possible since the warehouse is only open during normal business hours and is in NJ (we are in Brookyn). We sent a complaint email saying we were not informed of the curbside inspection policy and that we are terribly disappointed that we got a damaged item. In response to our email our issue was resolved! Within a few days the same pleasant delivery man came to Brooklyn with a new dresser, we inspected it on the sidewalk, it had no damages, he used the box it came in to take the damaged one away. Now every morning I wake up to the smell of fresh wood next to my bed (for some reason the dresser smells of fresh wood!).

I ordered a table from the Furniture Authority on July 19. After two weeks went by with no word, I called and was told it would ship "probably Wednesday, but Friday at the latest." Two more weeks passed and Id heard nothing. A second call claimed that they had the table in California, and they were sending it to New Jersey so it could be shipped to me. Two days later, I received an email stating the table would ship on August 20, and that I would get a tracking number as soon as they had one. Even a one month delay from order to shipping is, frankly, unacceptable. However, August 20 came and went with no email, no phone call, no tracking number. Today is August 30. After calling every hour on the hour today, I finally reached an associate who said that they table shipped from California was "damaged", and they had "a similar table" that they could ship "tomorrow" if I wanted. I have no idea how long Furniture Authority would have waited to call me (having already charged my credit card) to tell me that my table was not coming. I would highly recommend not doing any business with this company, no matter how attractive their prices might be.
