My experience at this Pep Boys was EXTREMELY disappointing. I brought my car in at 9 AM for brake work -- and ended up leaving around 5 PM. There was very little communication the entire time, and the staff was extremely unprofessional and paid no attention to me. In addition, after my work was supposedly completed, there was a loud constant beeping and a message on cars dashboard that told me to "STOP" and that my brakes were faulted. I mentioned this to Pep Boys, and they told me it was OK to drive, and to just bring it in within a few days and they will correct the issue (because some sort of scanner was not working). Rather than suggesting an alternative (such as checking with another Pep Boys on a working scanner, they just told me to bring it back in a few days). Not only did they take over eight hours to fix my brakes (not even sure if they are fixed), but they let me drive away with that beeping and messages on my cars dashboard. The guy also mentioned that the car is fine to drive, and that the emergency break just doesnt work right now. Great to know that Pep Boys is ok with people driving cars with faulty emergency brakes. I called and spoke to the manager, and our call got disconnected -- I called back within 10 seconds, and he was now with a a customer, and he never returned my call. I would NEVER recommend this specific Pep Boys to anyone. I spent over $200 for horrible customer service and a staff that allowed me to drive away in an unsafe car. I will be sure to communicate this to Pep Boys corporate, as this was extremely unprofessional and unsafe. Very very very disappointed. Please look into other options in the area, as there are many other auto shops in the vicinity

If I could give a half star I would. Ive never had ANY issues at any other Pep Boys until today....Got an oil change and the service technician did not even put my dipstick back in the right hole for the dipstick. Which led to oil all over the place and underneath my car and a nasty burning smell for the day. Which probably was a result of the service tech being on his phone while he was working on my car which I could clearly see. Not to mention while I was waiting in line I heard multiple employees trying to get out of work and go home as if they did not want to be there. Safe to say I felt/still feel as if they just dont care about the work they are doing, which means they also dont care about any further damages done to peoples cars as a result of their mishaps, which also means they dont care about the people they are taking care of. Its pretty simple to find any dipstick hole and put the dipstick right into it.

Manager called me after seeing this review and handled the situation perfectly. Offered a free oil change and apologized for my bad experience. It is nice to see that the business cares about customer satisfaction. I would come back to this pep boys because of the way the situation was handled Signed up for an oil change online where it said weekday special for 19.99. I waited about an hour and when it was time to pay the worker said it was 40 dollars. When I explained the discount the guy chuckled in my face and said he "could not control what the website said." They couldnt have given me a break and added the coupon? It said it would be 20 dollars online and I ended up spending 40. Because of this experience I will not be continuing to bring business here and I advise that you hire workers who will respect there customers instead of dismissing them like they have never heard of the deal.

A few months ago I dropped my car off on Friday and left it all of Saturday and when I picked up my car I started it to only find out THEY DIDNT PUT OIL IN!!!! They offered a free oil change but Im never going back there. I went today to check my oil and the dipstick is broken. I dont even know how something like that would happen so I can only imagine it was intentional. The loop youd pull was snapped off and the plastic casing is crooked so I wont even be able to get to it with pliers without taking off the casing. I didnt complain about the no oil thing a few months ago because I figured the free oil change would be all Id be offered but there is no way I am ever going to that place again. My car could die at the entrance to it and Id rather push it myself to a different place than let them touch my car.

hallo, hard core fans of good service ! just came back from the Pep Boys store and man I am happy... had an appointment for work on my car what was estimated for +/- 2 hours until finished. leave my car there at 9;15 in the morning should get a telephone call when ready... dont hear anything for 3 hours return to the store and in all happiness a store manager can produce in a day he tells me he didnt even started on my car !! :-) has nobody to work on...doesnt probably know how to use a phone to call me and tell me whats going on. Did get a chance to mention to him that being a manager is a verb and a noun... and verbs are action words...you have no guy to fix my ride call me :-) He did looked smart that guy i have to give him that...

Tried to find a replacement spline lug nut tool because I destroyed mine. Asked some representatives to see if I can make sure itll fit my lugs before I purchase since I brought them in to check, but they gave such attitude and denied my request, saying they are all universal as long as the diameter was right. The one guy behind the parts section desk didnt even give me his full attention and shrugged me off. I ended up purchasing the tool and tried matching it up to my lugs. Of course it didnt work because the spline design was slightly different. Shows that these people dont know everything. What got me mad was his bitter old man grumpy attitude. Such poor customer service.

If I could rate lower I would. I am a nurse at Bayshore Community Hospital. Went in after the snow storm today on my way home because one of my wipers broke off on the way into work. The mechanics could care less. Horrible customer service at a moment when they should be at their best. Understand this was a snow storm but if you are there, even if you were forced in, (shame on you pep boys if you forced them in, see what happens?) do your best dont take it out on the customer. Asked if I could keep one of the my old wipers that was still good for a spare and they said "no it doesnt work that way"!??

Had to return a part that I purchased but ended up not needing, I lost my receipt , but not one but two of their employees took their time to look everything up and give me a refund without a hassle about losing the receipt. Most places look to just give you store credit. They both were very nice and friendly through the whole process without an ounce of grief. Thanks to both of you and I look forward to doing more business with Pep Boys of Hazlet. Ill make sure I take better care of the receipts in the future.
