Absolute best tattoo parlor in NJ. Ive been getting ink over 20 years. This is the first time I can say that I am 100% happy with the work. Johnny is a wildly brilliant individual, extremely talented, and entertaining! I believe it speaks volumes that he is a professionally trained fine artist, first and foremost. This is evident in the custom work that he produces. Johnny Thief did a custom drawing based on the ideas that I presented him, getting inside my head to capture exactly what I wanted. After completing my half sleeve I went back for more work. Ive receive numerous compliments on my tattoos regarding the detail, color, and style. I know this is quality work by a highly skilled professional because it looks good, healed rapidly and perfectly, and the color has stood up. I have sat for 4 hour sessions and am always treated to the genius that is Johnny Thief. This guy is a true Renaissance Man, and if you are lucky enough to sit in his chair you will learn something about LIFE. I cannot recommend this shop enough. I am so grateful that they are only minutes from my home.

I love the shop I have been going there since 2011 or so and the experience is always welcoming. Great place you can see that it is always spotless. Everything is orgonized and clean. The staff is very helpful, friendly and of course very professional. My artist is Johnny Theif I found him online after doing a research for the best artist in NJ I had send him an email with a picture of what I wanted and told him how I wanted the art to be different. He replied to me with the art and it was everything I want it and even better than I thought. I love the art work in display. I highly recommend it. It is always a great experience when I go to Seppuku Tattoo and I travel from Queens, NY to see him. He is worth is. Hes got great talent and great hand because his work heals fast for me and years later my ink still looks fresh. Thank you

The owner Johnny Thief was unbelievably rude both in person and over the phone. When I asked about having the design for a tattoo changed I was actually yelled at and told that hed "been tattooing longer than Ive been alive". Every question I asked was met with a raised voice and attitude. When I spoke on the phone with another artist at Seppuku, his solution to the problem was that if I didnt like the way Thief spoke to me I should just cancel my appointment and that will be the end of it. Johnnys arrogant, self-righteous attitude offsets his artistic ability. I urge anyone reading this to consider one of the dozens of other talented artists in the area who truly care about their work and arent just looking for an opportunity to inflate their own ego.

I started my cover-up tattoo with Johnny and am beyond happy! It was worth the drive from Morristown NJ to get tattooed by the Master Tattoo Artist, Johnny. He listened to what I wanted and made the perfect changes I requested after he drew up the first draft. He is truly an artist! The detail in my Hindu God, Nataraja, tattoo is crazy amazing! He was as gentle as he could be. He is a great conversationalist and funny, which helped get my mind off the pain. It was a very pleasurable experience to get tattooed by Johnny! I truly feel honored and blessed to have been recommended to him. Although my tattoo isnt done yet, you already cant see what he covered up! Johnny is extremely talented!!

This shop is both one of the most professional, and yet least pretentious tattoo shops Ive ever seen. Ive been in for multiple sessions with Johnny, and from conception to artwork to execution, Ive been impressed every step of the way. This is the kind of shop Id trust my kid to if she wants one when shes old enough. The guy is a perfectionist when it comes to his artwork, but hes personable as all hell. This isnt your "Jersey Shore" boardwalk flash shop. For the uninitiated, this would be the type of shop youd see on TV - high quality work, professional, yet relaxed and friendly.

Came here because I read about Johnny Thief, he did a rework for my tattoo, he did an amazing job making my last tattoo look like a preschooler drew it, I would recommend this place to everyone, Johnny thief is an amazing tattoo artist along with an amazing artist in general, and the parlor is extremely clean and comfortable

The owner Johnny or whatever his name was completely rude and disrespectful to me when I called to ask a question, even dropped the f bomb. If you go there better make sure he takes his medicine or he might freak out on you for no apparent reason. Only giving it one star because I cant give it any less

Tried to have an artist, Name of "thief", do a drawing for some possible ink. What I received was a textbook scary harrypotteresque drawing. What I asked for was, soft cute and gentle. No refund, no redraw, no customer service. Stay away at all costs!

Tattoo artist Ace ruined my kids first tat, a heart then added a ballsac at the bottom! She totally changes any idea of what you want into what she wants. If you criticize her work she goes crazy and insults her clients, very unprofessional!
