Okay, this is likely going to be a long review and might seem like a total fanboy review, but Ill explain my situation and how I came to become a customer with Bobos. I am a professional mountain biker and on a whim decided this year to finally get back into skiing (last I skied, I was 8 or 9 years old). The first evening I walked into the shop, it was chaos! Lots of people dropping off daily rentals, lots of people still fitting and picking up season rentals and 4-5 customers in the boot fitting area with only 3 employees helping fit those customers. There was also another employee (Theron Lee) who was helping but was actually off the clock and in the shop on his day off. I stood there patiently for nearly 30 minutes waiting for someone to even acknowledge my presence. As soon as one of the employees noticed me, he spoke up and asked if he could help me. Most customers would be irate after being essentially ignored for so long (see other/negative reviews for this same shop) but the thing most people forget is that these employees are focused and attentive to their customers and will focus on and spend as much time with the customer as needed. I was ignored for so long simply because the guys were all focused so much on the customers in front of them! I really appreciated this! Once it was my turn, Mike (newer guy) spent all the time with me that I needed! He spent over an hour with me trying to find a Salomon boot that worked with my feet...to no avail. The next day, after a phone call to Salomon/Atomics tech people, I went back and worked with Mike again, the wait was only a few minutes this time and we tried an Atomic LiveFit boot, which was perfect! They had to order the Atomic boot I wanted (120 stiffness version was not something Bobos carried in the particular boot fit I needed). Fast forward to this last week, Jackson (whos reputation precedes him) helped me dial in the fit of my new Waymaker Carbon 120 boots, spending nearly two hours with me, between insoles, heating of the shells and insoles, discussing my goals and needs in skiing and specifically with respect to the boot, at no charge mind you! His time is worth money and to offer this sort of expertise and custom fitting when he could have been off fitting and selling another pair of boots is what most people forget when it comes to being loyal to your local shops who employ true experts in their field! You will never find this sort of service in a big box store, and whatever minimal savings you may get at that big box store, the value in Jackson, Mike, Theron, and even the Sierra and the other girls up in the Apparel and Accessories area is invaluable compared to what you will find at the big box stores! Bottom line, be patient and understanding! This shop will ALWAYS get you setup and dialed with the perfect equipment and service, just give them the time to do the same with the rest of their customers!

Wonderful, pesonalized customer service! They have outfitted both my 5 & 11 yr. old this ski/boarding season. After we got all set up with the gear they needed, my 11 yr. olds Dr. would not release her for snowboarding because she broker her foot in soccer this year, only for sking due to the extra support of the boot. No problem, they just outfitted her for skiis ... no problem changing. After my 5 yr. olds first ski lesson, the teachers asked me to shorten her skis, it would make it a little easier for her to learn. No problem, they gave me brand new skis to accomodate the teachers request and never batted an eye. As a matter of fact, they did not have her size in the rental program and they pulled a brnad new pair of skis off the floor and gave them to me. Will you pay a little more? Perhaps only a little. But will it be exactly what you need and you wont have to go back and pay for another because you purchased the wrong one .... it will be perfect. Staff is amazing and I am now a lifetime customer. Thank you BOBOS!!!

Stopped by the store a couple weeks ago to look at some random things and see what kind of boots and bindings they carried. After wandering around for a while I decided to leave and come back later. Went back on my birthday to get some boots and hit the slopes the next day only to be left standing there. I was walked by to help the person standing behind me, ignored and even asked to move so some kids could look at boots. A "Ill help you guys in a minute" would have at least given me the hope of getting help before they closed... . After a while I asked the a guy in the ski boot area if he knew anything about snowboard boots and could help. He told me that he didnt and to go look for help in the snowboard area. I mentioned they were ignoring me over there and walked back over to wait some more. Im generally pretty patient but the chance of getting helped looked pretty grim so we left. Im pretty bummed I didnt get any boots, looks like Ill just have to go somewhere else.

Among the best in-store retail customer service Ive ever experienced. We came in for a fitting and were very delighted to be working with Pat. The knowledge he shared about how a ski-boot should fit for various skill levels was really valuable! My fiancee ended up making a purchase that day (he got the Salomon Mens QST Pro 120 Ski Boots) and I ended up renting a pair to try out. Both of us had one of the best ski days ever, so that probably speaks volumes to our gear. The staff was so friendly, the prices were great, and it felt like a true community in there - where they just wanted to make sure you were happy!

My friends and I went to Bobos for guidance to proper ski equipment and that is what we got. Excellent customer service was definitely given to us also. We all ended up buying new boots that fit us properly so we could ride comfortably and under control. Walter fitted me for boots and gave me a killer boot that fits me right and I feel so much better on the mountain. The fitting process for boots here is great. They will spend as much time needed to get you into the right boot and mold them to your foot so you and the boot are one with each other. Great selection of alpine skis. Great people that work here.

Awesome Place. They guys there are really chill. I bought a board, boots, bindings from them. It was my first time buying any of my own gear. I had always just rented from them. Therefore I didnt know much about what I liked and felt right. So I got what was recommenced. Tried it out, things didnt fit, or seem to be as easy as it was with the rental. So I brought it back, and they were really cool about exchanging it for something that fit right for me, even when they had to go to storage to fish something out. Great Customer service! 10/10

I have been in there three times in the past two months looking at bindings and other random things. I was never asked if I needed help or assistance. I had employees look at me and walk right by me without saying a word several times. I will never purchase anything from Bobos again and all my business will go to Reno Mountain Sports. I actually just bought new bindings there yesterday and within 5 minutes of being there 3 people asked if I needed any help. Reno Mountain Sports is by far the more superior ski shop in Reno.
