I was there this afternoon browsing for education curriculum books, and just generally looking around. I am a teacher. As I was browsing, I was repeatedly followed by staff members. Twice, staff members asked if I needed help. I replied that I did not need help both times, and both times the staff members pressed me and said that I "looked like I needed help". I kid you not, both said something like "you look confused" or "you dont look like you are fine". They wouldnt just accept that I didnt want their help and kept pushing. WOW - I thought I was just looking at books but apparently they know more than me. They would NOT just leave me alone. I am a 40+ professional adult, not a teenager. When I say I dont need help, I mean it. As I was standing there, I was thinking, "I could be surfing Amazon right now." One of the only reasons to visit a brick-and-mortar bookstore these days is to be able to browse and discover. If staff members make it unpleasant to just take time and look around, then they are going to destroy whats left of the bookstore business. I probably wont go back to this store again. As it is, I probably would have stayed twice as long (and more than the two books I purchased) if I had not been harassed by staff. Next time I want to take my time browsing books Ill go to the library. I encourage everyone else to do the same - and its also free.

I had a terrible experience in this store.. I went in on the 21st of December around 10a.m. The first thing this woman did was act like I didnt know what I was talking about just because I asked for a scholastic magazine she says no such thing. Then she tells me "Books do come in different sizes. And she makes some comment about can my grandson read. Then another woman is stocking I ask how much a puppet is because there was no price tag. She says "Oh thats the most expensive"She said like 50$ like I couldnt afford it. She never did check the price for me..Then I get up front to pay for my things the lady is trying very hard to up sell so I say you are a good sales person. She says "I must not be to good you didnt buy anything else." Cant be nice to these people. I wont be back. Thanks Happy New Year.

I think I like the other Barnes and Noble on Charleston/Fort Apache a little better, maybe because it seems the other one has a larger selection. That could be my imagination, but I did notice the religion section had multiple aisles full of Christianity, just a little bit of Buddhism, Judaism, and Mormonism, and no Islam in sight. I guess that reflects the demographics of Henderson, but Id like to see a bookstore expand peoples horizons. But still, its the closest big bookstore (the only other one is the other one, and then its just Writers Ink downtown and a few used bookstores), and I go there regularly to get a book and a nice coffee (Starbucks) and cheesecake (Cheescake Factory) in the coffee shop.

I would like to thank Karen for going above and beyond tonight(1.4.2015) for my Grandson Austin. We have been looking for two books Black Beauty or Marlee and Me. They are needed for class tomorrow. After going to a couple Barnes and Noble we called the Henderson store. Karen found and held the book Black Beauty for us. I drove from Blue Diamond to Henderson only to find out the version of Black Beauty was much to juvenile for my grandson. Karen went looking for the Marlee and Me and yes she found it. Hats off to Karen for going the extra mile this is were some business fail. I hope you will take the time to let Karen know how much we appreciate her excellent customer service.

I signed for membership and specifically told the lady not to put me on auto-renewal and was told that it will ONLY be for a year. Long story short, the membership was on auto renewal, when I came back after 3 years in the country saw that I was being charged every year for the membership. Called to cancel and refund but they wouldnt refund. Even though its my mistake for not paying close attention to my account (didnt think companies other then I signed up for auto-deduct would be taking money out), I also blame Barnes and Noble for lying to me and hiding the fact that theyre putting me in auto renewal.

I called your store at 567 n Stephanie. Twice in a row I was told to hold and a book seller would be with me. Twice I was cut off and the dial tone. Not a dropped call because this is a land line I use. I know the problem and it starts with the culture here in Vegas. We are last in education and that filters down to the work force. I bet the manager does not know who the vice president of the USA is or how many members of congress there are. My son was getting Cs at San Diego State. He graduated here and made the national deans list. Straight As here ha ha.

Worst customer service! They tell you on the phone they have nook colors in stock and 5 mins later when yopu show up they say they do not have them. Once I finally got one I needed to return it due to a couple pixles missing. I was told on the phone again, to come down. I then asked if they could verify they had them. Indeed they did not. Once I was called and took my nook in for exchange. I was greated by AJ ( the grumpiest/rudest employee I have ever spoken with). AJ insisted there was not an issue with my nook but, "whatever". Just a big let down!

Books, coffee, and board games; three of my favorite things all in one place. They have a lot of collectible books, books for display, and a lot of cheap readers as well as the usual book store stuff. They have a board game section with a lot of cool games, theyre selling collectible statues, some fancy looking Legos, and puzzles. They also have a pretty good selection of music and audio books. I highly recommend you come here to at least look around and buy some coffee in the in store coffee shop.

I havent been in a Barnes & Nobles in years. I buy my stuff all online, but I needed a leather-bound journal and I needed it today. It was nice that I got to pick up and feel the journals and find the exact one I needed. They had a great selection! They asked if I wanted to be in there shopping club, I thought it was funny because I dont think Ill return for another five+ years because Ill just buy everything else online. But if you need a book today this place is great!

I love Barnes & Noble! But This one really is one of the greatest ones in Vegas. The staff is very helpful and always around if you need a question answered. One of the staff members helped me surprise my boyfriend, who was with me at the time, a few months back. She was also very helpful with assisting in pre-ordering one of my favorite series, the whole time acting like she never talked to me. This has become my Barnes & Noble!

Its hard for a brick and morter store to compete with Amazon and online sites. However, Barnes and Noble does sell some discounted books, and it provides a pleasant traditional Bookstore experience. Its fun to browse the aisles and check out the bargain books. The aroma of coffee and comfortable chairs add to this ambience. Even though I shop mainly online, I visit this store a few times a year.
