I had been window shopping for the last few weeks and finally made the decision to purchase a few items. With the help of Underwood, D, I decided on a new M-15 3-gun rifle and a Glock 43. It was a very good buying experience, remarkable customer service and depth of knowledge. This is how spending $2,500 should feel. I returned the next morning to purchase an EOTech 518 sight and G33 magnifier. I know I could have probably saved a few hundred dollars buying them online, but I like the idea of supporting local business and was hoping to be met the same remarkable Underwood customer service, because I had a question or two before buying (over $1,000 purchase, so I should be able to look at it and ask a question before buying). I ended up going in the morning, sadly no Underwood on the morning crew. It was one of the worst buying experiences of my life. First they had little interest in assisting me, despite the fact that I was the only customer in the store in the firearms section. After they finished their huddle and loud dirty jokes about some tall girl that manages another department, one walked by (clearly avoiding eye contact) and I asked for his assistance, he grunted. Yes, grunted. He then said he needed to finish inventory before he could assist me, so I waited. He never came back. I was in such disbelief I waited 20 minutes. I left and returned in the evening and was greeted by a much friendly crowd. I bought the sight and magnifier. I returned this morning because I absolutely needed a Mr. Buddy propane heater today. I swung by the firearms section just to see if it was an isolated incident. Same result, zero assistance provided. I then flagged an employee down and asked when they might receive a new batch of 30 round pmags in, the gen M3 models. He didnt answer the question, instead goes into a rant about how I should refer to them as gen 3 magazines and not gen m3. Lesson: dont shop at this location in the mornings.

I believe in honest feedback -- positive or negative. I try to complement employees just as readily as I complain. And I seek to be careful and sincere in either event. Last Sunday afternoon, I went to the Bass Pro store on Campbell Ave to buy an archery bow release and some bow strings. When I approached the guys at the archery counter (Im sure you can access who was on duty Sunday afternoon at that counter and in that area), they were not overly friendly to begin with but that was not too bad yet. Howevver, when I asked where the releases were, they just pointed to an isle. They were not AT ALL busy and did not take me to the products. As for the bow strings, they said they would have to order them but did not seem to look very hard for them in stock and did not seem very enthusiastic about placing an order. I browsed in the area they pointed me to for a very long time and they would have had to seen me struggling -- again, since they were heavily staffed in the area and obviously not busy with anything other than socializing. To really top off this poor customer service, there were at least four young men at any one time standing out in the isle in a huddle socializing -- not checking on customers or serving us in any way -- just palabering. Incidently, I dont think there was a guy oveer 30 years old in the loitering bunch (that might give you some help in any research you might do). At our company, our 185 employees ALL read the book about Raving Fans. How to make customers into Raving Fans. The youngsters at Bass Pro guns n bows did not exercise that Sunday.

I will never buy anything from or step foot in the Illinois store again. Very disappointed in poor product quality. I bought redhead outdoor shoes and the quality of the materials was substandard. The velcro and thread were already coming out after one use. My knee joints were paining after one hour due to the hard and stiff shoe bed. I will stick to better quality store where I usually shop that starts with an r and go back to my favorite name brands that are comfy and last long. I am able to walk all day in product I get from higher-end stores where I usually shop. I was lied to by ignorant staff members about the return policies. I took item back unused and unworn within a week with the receipt due to sizing and they disrespected me and treated me badly and made it difficult to return. Talked down to me. I absolutely livid with how I was treated. So, I tried the shoe once and what a bad and uncomfortable experience it was. Took two trips and two hours of my time to get a simple return processed. They dont respect the customer or value your time which is indicator of poor customer service. Ive never had such a bad returns experience in any store ever. Maybe its an indication of their typical clientele. Not worth the hassle or the trip. You lost a potentially great customer. So, good luck if you ever need to return anything. You can get better quality and service at the dollar store.

I have been good customer to Bass Pro in Springfield MO for 8 months. I have been spend a lots money for them each weeks $100 to $400. It all started when some of there customer service fishing department didnt have the knowledge fishing product and when I ask them where is this items located they just said we dont sell it or walk away from me so I end up find the items by myself. The funniest part when I return the items they sold me was wrongs to fish with. They call up store manger to speak to me why Im returning this fishing pole and reel and I told him it not the right rod and reels for my type of fishing than he gave me the dirty look like I have no money or stole from them. I have all my sales receipts past 8 months and the store manger Pete and rest of bass pro crews gave me the dirty looks every times I walk in front doors. Pete the store manger there have painted me a red target on my back every times walk in there to get items I needed for fishing day.

Holy WoW - just go - its like a living museum - & it has an AMAZING gun museum inside (soon to be another 9/21/17) - LIVE alligators & turtles (in tanks where you can almost touch em ... BUT I suggest not) PLUS the restaurant - I tell you what - stunning views all around - NOTHING like the shoppe in Olathe KS - the taxidermy work is also of very awesome quality & so many animals to show your heartbeats (& self) - the MASSIVE aquariums of GAR carp bass catfish (MANY other species too) & ducks !!! The squee mine heartbeats let out upon seeing the ducks - & watching them swim (the way the tanks are set up - view from UNDER water up - so youre able to see EXACTLY HOW ducks swim & eat - If you cant hit a nature trail ... Bass Pro of Springfield MO did one hell of an amazing job brining nature inside !!!! So very much worth the detour for 2hrs (NOT including shopping) - beat the heat & traffic & just stretch your legs for a bit - Youre welcome in advance
