Im a very much an advocate for supporting local businesses. We came as a suggestion and were looking forward to brunch prior to the drive back to Baton Rouge. Upon entering it appeared very cozy and a friendly setting. Upon entering to place order was greeted and advised that they just changed their menu items to a "Mardi gras" menu. We were looking forward to trying all the other items on the menu. The "Mardi gras" menu was their beignets, crawfish etoufee, and a chili. We ordered our sweet cream lattes. Upon awaiting for our items, Ive seen several other patrons getting their orders, which did not consist of only the "Mardi gras" menu. I politely asked the waitress why we were only offered the menu items as described above. She told me that we had to change our items last min because we are running out of items. I can agree to that statement, however a great suggestion would have that "Mardi gras" menu across the board and not designated only for some customers! We were served the beignets in a foam box as well as the crawfish etoufee in a Styrofoam bowl. This is not how you do business since you present the restaurant as a charming "cafe." I was rather very disappointed in the service and also explanation. Tip from someone who has worked in the service industry, "adequate preparation for your customers!" I will not pay a visit to this place when we are in Biloxi again.

The building is from 1910 so it has some really nice historic features to it. When you first walk in you notice the nostalgic pieces inside but can get a little confused on where to go to order something. When reach the counter to order the two ladies there do not seem to be in the most pleasant mood to help you out, I think one of them was even the owner. My wife wanted to come here because of the Beignets they are supposed to have but since it was 12 in the afternoon they didnt want to make anymore even though they had enough dough to do so. ITS IN THE NAME and we could not even order them. We decided to stay and get some other food. The four of us that went, we ordered wraps, lets just say throwing some food inside a wheat tortilla does not make it a wrap, you actually have to wrap it up. The wraps were not worth the $10 each, I would put a price on them around $3. Its stated that the shrimp is straight out of the Gulf but lets be honest here anyone knows that it was frozen shrimp out of a bag that you can buy from Walmart. The decor was cool and comfortable but the food along with customer service needs improvement if a business that has been open for 3 years wants to survive.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. I love this little place! Regarding speediness, it has transformed since visited nearly two years ago, which is impressive since most everything is made fresh. The menu is pretty good (but limited) and has not changed in the time Ive visited. Id like a refreshing menu; popular dishes can be kept. I like that a dessert bar has been introduced, it fits! The bar pairs nicely with the espresso menu. Usually, I find myself ordering an item for each course. The latest order of beignets and latte was inconsistent with my past experiences. It tasted different but not terrible. Id like to know if the recipe changes in terms of ingredients. The entrees I recommend are the grits (which has a cabin/cajun twist), breakfast sandwich, and crab stacker (a salad dish). Its all well portioned and lightly filling. The beignets are mostly perfection! I suggest pairing it the sweet crème latte. Its an unregrettable, wonderful sugar rush! Im a supporter of this hidden gem... Its cozy, locally owned, pretty good customer service with available parking. In my opinion, its the best spot in town.

The food was delicious. I had beignets, coffee, and the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the beignets were light and fluffy, and the grits were creamy and well seasoned. Their coffee is just the right strength for beignets, and for me, who enjoys a cup of mud haha The atmosphere is cute, and homey, but unfortunately, their tragic flaw lies in slow, unorganized service, and a fellow diner at my table did find a large hair in their soup... they quickly refunded the cost of the soup without hesitation in their defense. The staff were very nice, and doing their best, but its clear management has not given them the tools they need to run food quickly and without reminding from the customer that they need xyz a few times. (In our case, two orders of beignets were placed at the same time, but we got them 30 mins apart after the other food had come, and I had to ask for my cup of coffee three times) I do believe these challenges could be overcome with some brainstorming, and this place could easily get 4 or five stars no problem. Definitely worth a shot, overall,

Traveling the Gulf Coast in our RV, we stopped in Biloxi to take in the beaches and historic downtown area. Drove by this quaint gingerbread looking establishment and we were curious what this business was all about. On the windows were scrolled words describing some of the menu offings. Upon entering, we saw a art deco look to the decorating scheme. We ordered the French Market Beignets - traditional puff pastry dough beignets deliciously sprinkled with powdered sugar and new to the menu filled beignets filled with homemade pecan praline creme sauce. WOW, both were excellent, but we favored the traditional powdered sugar beignets the best. We met the owner and she was very nice explaining all about her idea to open a restaurant in downtown Biloxi. When traveling thru or visiting Biloxi, be sure to stop at Le Cafe Beignet on Rue Magnolia. We will definitely return!

To compare this place to Cafe du Monde in New Orleans is a joke. Long wait for these hot and soggy concoctions that were likely "reheated" in the microwave and tasteless. Overall disappointing experience. Walked in unsure if place was even open, so I asked a worker and was given a half-hearted reply... There was a lady dressed in club attire walking back and forth from the kitchen to the back alley garbage cans-- Im not sure if she prepared our food, but it was unprofessional/unappetizing. However, my biggest pet peeve: THE COFFEE. When it finally arrived at our table completely black, we had to ask to have cream/sugar brought as there was none to be found. We received one cream/one spoon to share! These are the very basics of a cafe, pitiful! Cmon Biloxi, you can do better than this....

Besides the cute decor nothing else is good at this restaurant. They try to act French but they need serious education on French cuisine. They also need a better management. We waited on the counter for almost 10 minutes to order our food. The cashier was taking orders, preparing the food, serving and cleaning. She was the only person working that morning. She was running around the place like a crazy person. She was stressed and I dont blame her . We ordered a meal that had crab and it smell awful. My husband felt a bit sick after eating there. The building and decor is cute but they need clean the space. We could see tons of dust around. We probably wont go back.
