I really dont know what kind of selection or service they have, I didnt even get in the store. I am new to the area, I have been taking my bike to the bike shop across the street (great shop) I pulled up and noticed the Solo Vino and thought I will go grab my bike and stop in and pick up a bottle. I parked in front of the wine store, got out to run in and pick up my bike. I got my bike, came back to put it in my car (Im pretty sure I wasnt in there for 15 mins) but I had forgotten a sticker I needed. So I ran back in, Im standing in the bike store finishing up when someone comes up to me telling me, he is the owner of the wine store and I had parked in a 15 minute parking spot (the signs are clear about 15 mins, but certainly dont mention the wine store) in front of his store. My first thought was, I know, I was going into your store.! The bike shop was busy and the owner was loud about it. He kept saying the parking stops are so important to him to the point of embarrassing me. Needless to stay, I didnt go in. .the signs are very clear...15 minutes, though they dont say anything about beware of crazy wine shop owner....

Two stars for selection and price, which are decent for a neighborhood store. The fabled service was nowhere to be found; perhaps one must walking in smacking of old Summit Hill money before the staff sees fit to acknowledge ones presence, which could explain the disparity in reviews here. We walked by an employee upon entering, who barely gave the subtlest hint of polite greeting with a hurried half smile and nod, and only after I smiled and said "Hi, how are you" to him. Afterwards, as we browsed the rieslings, neither he or his coworker saw fit to ask us if we needed any guidance or information, instead they saw fit to casually chat with one another behind the counter. After 10 minutes of this, we willingly left empty-handed, why would we give our business to an establishment that has no concern for it? We wont be coming back.

As a former resident of the neighborhood (13 years), I highly recommend Solo Vino. I don’t remember ever buying a bad bottle of wine here. Do yourself a favor and don’t be shy about asking for recommendations, even if you’re in a hurry. The staff is super friendly and intuitively accommodating, no matter if you’re in a rush to grab a bottle of wine or two for a a get-together, or you feel like hanging out and learning more. Even if you’re not a neighbor, make the trip and give your business to people who bother to know what they’re stocking. Solo Vino is an important part of what makes Selby Avenue great!

Solo Vino is the prime example of a local merchant that is invested in the community. We are so lucky to have Solo Vino as a neighborhood business. Fantastic wine selection with the knowledge to back it up. Drink what you like, if you like it then it is a good wine is often said by them. They can get down and dirty with the finer details for wine snobs or keep it simple for those just testing the water. A must stop if you are in the area.

Excellent wines at many price points. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, though not always the most friendly. When The Cheeky Monkey operated next door, one could buy wine at Solo Vino and drink it at the restaurant. Fingers crossed that the same is true at the soon-to-open (fall 2016) Revival.

What a joy this little wine shop is. They have a wide range of prices and options, which is impressive considering the size of the space. They also do occasional tastings, which is the best way to find something you know youll like.

A nice neighborhood shop and good selection of certain wines but very disappointed in their Italian varietals. Regrettably I had to go to Total Wine to find what I was looking for.
