I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!! Overall overpriced for what you get, nothing special. Although the food was okay and the environment was upbeat my overall service was worthy of less than ZERO STARS. From the moment I arrived to the moment it was time to leave my server and experience was awful. First I called in a reservation, after spelling out my full name clearly and providing my phone number I arrived and the reservation was non existent. Fine, no big deal there was no wait so we were sat. Then the server took about 10 mins to ask if we wanted anything to drink, although we did have water fine again no big deal. We order coffee and she drops the coffee off and its luke warm. It wasnt even warm. Normally I would have just mentioned it, but we then didnt see our server for another 10 mins, by then your just poorly sipping on $3.75 brew coffee. and let me tell you it was bitter and was not worth 3.75. Bitter coffee is the result of coffee sitting too long in conjunction with not rinsing out the coffee urn. That is basic coffee 101 if your going to try and sell me $3.75 brew coffee. If Im paying 99 cents for coffee fine it can be crap, but $3.75 for crap no way. So now its been about 20mins and we are sipping on bitter OVER PRICED brew coffee. Now dont get me wrong Im fine with paying $3.75 for coffee but that was awful. Anyway finally she takes our order and says would you like the bernaise sauce on top. We say not on top the side. Now this point not everyone would agree with me, but if something is an upsale, as a server you should mention it. It may be on the menu but if I looked at the menu 20 mins ago, you should mention its extra cost. But I digress and again whatever. After taking our order we waiting another 20 mins, when another person at the table had to yell for waiter just to get the drink order they put through. Then our table received refills of hot coffee this time, so I finally had a cup of hot coffee and now I can really say that brew was not worth $3.75. It took forever to get our food, we get our food and learn all the eggs are over easy light, now I really enjoy that but not everyone at the table on their own plates did, also it never said that on the menu. Typically as a server you ask how would you like your eggs. Over easy light is not for everyone. My SERVER then never came back, never ask how the food was nothing. At that point we are just like what is her deal, she has an ATTITUDE and rolls her eyes whenever we tried to get her attention. I was DONE! We asked for our bill she said she would be right back it took her 10 mins to get our bill, we look up and shes cleaning lights. Not getting our bill. We paid, still left her a tip, but left with such a bad experience. Yes the food was good coffee was bad, and I love Coffee!!! This place = terrible service. The service was SLOW, POOR and it was not because it was packed we sat down and there were empty seats around. There a lot of other places that have practically the same food better prices and much better service. I am never going back.Overall overpriced for what you get, NOTHING SPECIAL.

Despite my high hopes based on the reviews of this place, I was just satisfied with my visit. It wasnt incredible like I was anticipating. That being said here is my take. the parking is a joke. As with any eatery in that part of town you probably will not find parking nearby. I was 8 blocks away when I finally found a spot in some residential area. This was after driving around the immediate 3 blocks around the copper hen for almost 20 minutes. The drinks were interesting but nothing that blew my mind. I would prefer to get something from Bradstreet for the price and strange concoctions. The food, I chose the turkey burger with lingonberry aioli. My wife had the mac and cheese as did several other people at our table. Of our party of 8 and 6 having the m&c no one said "you have to try this". The quality and presentation was great, flavor was fine but it felt lacking. I understand that they are doing Minnesota sourced products which is commendable. The service was slow for a weeknight.i am uncertain if they are short staffed that night or they only had 2 people to attend to all the tables. Maybe Im just spoiled but I have high expectations for a 15$ burger and a 12$ specialty drink. For two people we ran a tab of 95$ after tip. Overall the food is good, atmosphere is intimate and nice but for the price I would encourage trying Travail out in Robbinsdale.

The Copper Hen was our wedding venue for our August 20th wedding date. Choosing the Copper Hen was THE BEST DECISION we made as we planned our wedding. Working with Chris and Danielle made our wedding planning experience extremely positive. They worked with us to design the reception space, said yes to all of my requests, and were present and responsive throughout the process. I loved working with them! The outcome was phenomenal. The wedding space was GORGEOUS, the food was hot and delicious, the drinks were flowing and the service was wonderful. Booking the Copper Hen means Danielle made our yummy and stunning wedding cake and cupcakes, we enjoyed the Copper Hens amazing menu items, we had a team of bartenders and wait staff, and our guests enjoyed the gorgeous space that is the Copper Hen :) My husband and I have said it over and over, we wouldnt change a thing. The Copper Hen was the perfect wedding venue spot. But what truly made everything perfect was working with Chris and Danielle, the owners of the Copper Hen. So positive, so helpful and incredibly kind. We love them!!

The first attempt to go to the Copper Hen for brunch a month or two ago, we were told the wait was three hours. We went to Freehouse instead. We were seated immediately and had a good experience. Determined to try out the Copper Hen, I made reservations for today (Saturday) at 11 a.m. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and given coffee and water. Our waitress told us shed be back to take our order. After 45 minutes our waitress finally came over and said, "I guess Im taking your order." My Spicy Pork Belly Eggs Benedict was a surprising disappointment - its a pretty standard brunch menu item that most restaurants can handle. The hollandaise and eggs were lukewarm, the meager amount of pork belly was neither spicy nor well prepared. It was a couple of small strips of over-cooked, over-crunchy, salty bacon. And, even though I ate everything on my plate (and got a bonus amount of food from the grounds in my coffee) - I left hungry. My brunch mates didnt fare much better with cold biscuits and gravy and a BLT thing. I am absolutely not going back to the Copper Hen.

I loved this restaurant the first time I went and have been wanting to return for months. We finally made reservations to go back for brunch on a Sunday (today) with our two year old and eight month old. We arrived early and drove around for at least twenty minutes trying to find parking and made it inside with twenty minutes to spare before our reservation time. We got to the hostess stand after waiting in line and being skipped over twice only to hear that our reservation was actually forty-five minutes after our initial reservation time (an hour from the current time). Upon double checking our phone number, it turns out they didnt have a reservation for us at all. With two young kids and absolutely nowhere to stand, let alone sit, to wait for a table, we walked out beyond frustrated with an unapologetic "sorry" from the host. To add to the frustration, I had been considering using them for our upcoming weddings desserts but will now obviously be reconsidering after being left with such a bad taste in my mouth.
