I have been looking forward to getting a tattoo for a long time, and the one place I wanted to get it done at was Cactus Tattoo. My very first time going in to schedule an appointment was a awful experience. The lady behind the counter was horribly rude to my boyfriend and me. It kinda just sounded like she was having a rough day so I didnt add on and be pissy back. When I showed her my tattoo she didnt hesitate to tell me it was going to be $100. Which was absolutely crazy for the size and lack of detail it was. It was a penny size moon, no detail just a line. I asked her if I could change anything about it to make it worth less - like maybe make it even more smaller! She was very stern on the price so I got over it and put down my $50 deposit. Know I could go somewhere else for cheaper I went to other tattoo places and found one that would do it for $40!! I went back in and canceled my appointment and happily went someone else. The women behind the counter wasnt too thrilled to see me come in and cancel my appointment. Im very very disappointed in this store... and staff. No one should spend their money their.

Went in to Cactus Tattoo for a couple of questions regarding piercings & jewelry I had gotten there earlier. Receptionist was incredibly rude and went out of her way to argue with me about the items they had in the store. I asked to see the jewelry they had to offer and was very reluctant to show me anything, leading to more frustration. I have worked many customer service jobs and her behavior went beyond unfriendly and into aggresive. I have exclusively shopped at Cactus Tattoo for years, but will not be returning. Brandon, the main piercer and body modification artist, is incredibly helpful and knowledgable. All my piercings from him have been great, and healed well. Unfortunately, to get to him (or the other artists,) the reception area will most likely be rude and short with you. As great as the service Cactus provides is, dont bother going in because you will be rushed and your questions unanswered leading to getting something you didnt want, or nothing at all. I see other reviews saying similar things about attitude problems and it is very true.

Absolutely rude!! Brandon was awesome and so informative, but he needs to get out of that shop because he can do way better. The lady I talked to about getting my nose pierced was so unhelpful. She rolled her eyes when I started asking about what jewelry they use and heal times. I felt so unwelcome and I was literally thinking of just walking away from this piercing. Then a customer came in and got a new piece of jewelry, the two ladies working up front proceed to pull it out of the packaging with their dirty hands and put it in some sort of solution.. Completely nasty! They had money just laying around all over the front counter and I will never go back there. Nor will I ever recommend someone to go here.

When in with a question about a stencil. Was ok not to be able to be able to buy one, but the staff appears to have a big problem with it. Rude, bad customer service. Posted a bad review on F/B. Since that time, ‘2 days later’ their staff and buddies have been lashed out, whined, and contumely talked down / bad mouth on their F/B page. Some throwing insults. If they freely speak out in public like that, just imagine how bad they’ll treat you when in private. If you are really in the need for bad customer service, then by all means… go to this place. Only wish I could give negative stars for their rating.

Funny the amount of bad reviews on here. EVERYONE at Cactus is super friendly, and I have had great tattoos by both Rob and Makeba- they are the best pieces on my body, definitely over the ones I have gotten elsewhere. I have met Brandon (piercer) and hes a super great guy. As far as pricing, $60 may seem high to some of you, but I got my nose done in the cities for $75- so I think $60 is reasonable and competitive. Go to Claires if you cant handle a professional piercing. I wouldnt go anywhere else in Mankato or the surrounding area for a tattoo or piercing. Definitely recommend Cactus to anyone interested.

This shop is EXTREMELY over priced and the reciptionsit was very rude. I got a very small tattoo, about the size of a bandaid and it was $100 plus a tip. When I went in to get it touched up (that was free) the receptionist yelled at me when my phone went off too loud and was quite sassy about it. On top of that she was rude when we asked questions like she was expecting us to know exactly how everything worked? Aside from all of that my tattoo artist was very nice, did a great job and had me in and out in a good amount of time.

I love them. Ive been there 4 times over the last 4 years. Ive gotten one tattoo from Karl (and a touch up), one tattoo from Makeba and a piercing from Brandon. Everyone has been friendly and informative. And the lady at the front desk has always been nice. Everything has healed just fine without problems. They are way cheaper than most places with their tattoo prices and average with their piercing prices. I love them and I recommend them to everyone! Their shop is clean.

Years ago, the receptionist at Cactus Tattoo was condescending and unhelpful, but I recently stopped in and they had completely revamped the shop. The receptionist was friendly and eager to help and made me feel comfortable. The piercer, Brandon, has always made me feel welcome and excited for piercings. I love that guy, and I always recommend him. I cant wait to stop in again.

Brandon at Cactus Tattoo did my daughters tragus piercing. The whole experience was well above 5 stars. Super professional and knowledgeable. The education we received about her piercing, and piercing in general, was way more than we could have asked for. The environment was super clean and sanitary. The cost was very competitive and worth every penny.

I had a wonderful experience getting a piercing here by Brandon, he was very kind and informative as well as a calming presence while getting my piercing. The only bad thing I can say about the shop would have to be the receptionist as other people have mentioned. She was unfriendly and down right hostile if she felt inconvenienced.

Very clean place...Carl seemed rushed to be done for the day.. and didnt really ask me how i wanted my tattoo just kind of slapped it on my back and i had to tell him to change it. He didnt talk much and when he was done kinda was like "ok thank you.." good place.. just recommend getting someone who has more time possibly?

I have never gotten a tattoo from here because theyre so rude. The girl at the front counter always rolls her eyes and acts like youre bothering her. She has never been friendly to me. Other people have said the same thing. I brought in an idea for a tattoo and the artist acted like I was bothering her also.

I have gotten tattoos and piercings here and I would highly recommend this place. All artists and piercers are talented and professional. I personally recommend getting a tattoo from Rob, he is a reliable and skillful artist, as well as just a really nice guy. Great atmosphere and reception staff as well.
