While this shop has many great products to offer, the staff is less than friendly. Dont get me wrong, the young kids are nice but the older "gentlemen" / owners are there for the kill. They will do everything they can to get every dollar out of you. Dont ask too many questions to Todd or he will start talk to you in a very condescending tone. If you know a lot about bikes you will be fine, but if you are not an expert, prepare to be taken advantage of and talked down to. I really wanted to have a great experience here but it just did not happen......

SAVED OUR TRIP! Had a bent derailleur hanger/ dent spoke/ possible totaled derailleur itself. Walked in and Ian dropped everything and was able to save the derailleur! He made sure we had a working bike that night so we could leave first thing the next morning for copper harbor. Very friendly staff! Would not go anywhere else!

Ive shopped at Down Wind for a lot of things in the past three years. The staff is always very polite, the rewards program is very useful if you buy a lot of stuff (like a bike), and the sales are always a great thing to stop for.

Excellent service. Brought my paddle in years after purchase and they helped figure out why it wouldnt come apart easily anymore, plus gave me new calibration decal for free. And didnt make me feel stupid!

I brought my bike there to get a tire changed last year. I go to change my tube this spring and the bolt to get my tire off is stripped out and I cant get it off.
