Our builder purchased a gas stovetop oven from the store. 5 months later the oven was having persistent issues with starting. We called Gerrits Service deptarment and they sent someone out. The tech had no idea what was causing the issue but attempted to fix it by clean the burner and replacing the starter. The issue continued but was impactful due to timing. 4 months later we realize the oven will be going out of warranty soon so we should really get them out again to get it fixed. The tech comes out and cleans the burner and replaces the ignitor. The tech says he thinks it should be fixed, but to feel free to call him if it comes back. The problem seemed to subside for a short period but came back after 3 months. Now we know we were out of the purchased product warranty but assumed we would be covered by a service warranty. So we called again, reporting that we are still having issues with the oven starting. A tech comes out and cleans the burner again, he tries it a few times and it seems to be lighting more often. A week later, we try to use it and we are seeing the issue again. At this point, we have given up on a Gerrits Service tech fixing the issue, so we consider purchasing a new oven or going to someone else for repairs. Shortly after that, we get an invoice for $74.95 for the last service call. We promptly call asking why were are being charged for service that should have been covered by their service warranty. The service manager rudely disagrees and argues that the last service call wasnt covered by any warranty. To this date, Gerrits refuses to recognize they sold us a non-functioning oven, and now they expect us to pay for a service call that still hasnt fixed the issue.

Your experience depends on the salesperson you get. There is one saleswomen there in particular who is rather short, abrupt and argumentative. Hope you dont get her. Everyone else I have dealt with there is nice and willing to spend as much time with me and my questions as I would like. Service department staff is very helpful and willing to help even if you are a do it yourself-er. Although the last time I called they said they would not work on GE because GE wont let them. Even though they were aware this particular appliance I called on was out of warranty. So why wouldnt they repair it? Then there is the prepaid debit card rebate "scam". It is really a credit card with a $ amount credit on it. Three phone calls and an hour of my time later I managed to get the card canceled. I can get a $200 credit on other credit cards just for opening an account. Also the number of credit cards you have effects your credit report number. They are good to deal with just not exceptional.

This is the first time I have left a review. The equipment and customer service was so very poor that I felt it necessary to do so. The quality of materials in my KitchenAid dishwasher were seriously substandard. All of the plastic components in the dishwasher became brittle and broke. I understand that Gerrits does not have control over KitchenAid however they do have control over rectifying the matter and standing behind the products they choose to sell. They have lost me as a customer.

On recommendation from the repairman for our previous Maytag dishwasher that died one month out of warranty, we bought a Bosch dishwasher from Gerrits and it performs exceptionally well. It has a stainless steel interior and quality components. Everything comes out very clean and it is whisper quite. They are initially expensive, but save in labor and parts over time. We learned it is worth the investment.

It is hard to get anyone to help you. I was in the 29th street store a few times scoping things out. I called at 11a and left a message for them to call me back but they didnt. Delivery of my stove was great. The guys were very friendly, careful and professional.

I have now bought 3 different appliances from these people. The service was top notch. I also felt that each purchase was a value from a price standpoint. I guess I just like the vibe here.
