I have never ever bought a diamond, or any jewelry over $100 for that matter. So I go in looking for an engagement ring setting, at first the lady behind the counter is fairly friendly. I tell her I already have a diamond solitaire (from my mother), and that I would like to take the diamond from the old ring and put it into a new setting. She says, "o no you dont want to do that! Its a hassle, and it usually doesnt end up fitting!" I had no idea, I was like "o ok," I was thinking of possibly purchasing a new diamond anyway (just bc moms is a little dated). Plus, I figured she knows her stuff! So I proceed to look at $6,000 diamonds. NOW she is being super friendly, crafty devil thinks she has a sale. I was on the fence about picking what setting I liked better. When, I kid you NOT, 5 minutes after telling me what a hassle it is to swap out diamonds. She suggests I buy a solitaire setting from them, and then come back with my fiancee to switch the diamond to a new setting of her choosing! Not realizing she slipped up, I said, "o you can swap it out of the old setting pretty easily then huh?" She replied, "o we can switch it while you watch, itll take 10 mins." Soooo you can change the diamond out of your solitaire setting, but not mine? Lol! Instead of making a $2000 sale on a setting, she got nothing! I may have even still went with a newer/nicer stone, had she been honest with me! I will not be going back to these liars! If youre in this area check out Discount Jewelery or Jewelry exchange, BOTH places were super friendly, and even suggested some tips to save me some money!

Orin Jewelers in Northville is the best. Ive taken two rings in to be designed and stones reset. Jennifer Strong helped me design a new ring from two sets; one my original wedding ring, and one from my mother-in-laws wedding ring. She also took a chip from my Grannys ring and suggested a hidden heart set inside the band. I love it! So much so, when I recently found my grandmothers engagement ring from the art deco period, I went to Jennifer for guidance. It needed repair and she and her team did a beautiful job restoring it to its original beauty. I would definitely recommend Orin Jewelers for a new, or used purchase. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to work with you to your satisfaction. (Believe me, it took quite a while for me to choose what I wanted done!) Thank you to all at Orin Jewelers!

This was the first time I was in Orin Jewelers and it was a wonderful experience. I had picked out a bracelet and the jeweler was going to take a charm I brought in, off a bracelet I had. However, when I was ready to leave the store, I saw another customer looking at bracelets also. One in particular caught my eye. I changed my mind and decided to get the second bracelet and have the charm transferred to it. My sales rep was most pleasant, voiding the first transaction and writing a new one up. She smiled the whole time I was there and was very pleasant. All in all, a good experience and in the future I will visit your store again. Thank you to you and all your associates.

We have had nothing but excellent service from Orins and "Mike", our salesman. We went looking for an engagement ring and found a setting we liked and then picked out a diamond. They had to change the round setting for one to match the princess cut solitaire we chose. We were going to on a camping trip 6 or 7 weeks later and really wanted the ring before we left. They were able to put a rush on it and we picked it up before we left. A few months later, we picked out hers (and my) wedding band and, again, Mikes service was outstanding! After the wedding, we took her two rings in to get soldered and they look beautiful. We plan on using Orins for future jewelry purchases!

I went into the store for the first time since my previous jeweler moved out of state not knowing to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The two ladies that helped me were very patient and provided many ideas and options once I explained the jewelry my wife already had. They were both very knowledgeable of the store product and gem quality. They did not try to oversell and most importantly made me feel comfortable with what I was buying. I wasnt concerned that I was paying a high price for an inferior product which is the trust my old jeweler provided. They will have me as a long time customer based on this experience.

I had my Grandmothers diamond earrings reset in white gold. They turned out great, but the backings seemed cheap (they had convinced me to change to a tension back from the original screw back). Sure enough, a few weeks later, one of my earrings fell out and is lost forever. I emailed the store to see if they could help in any way, like offer a small discount on a replacement earring, but got no response. If you buy any earrings from this store, I would not trust any backings they provide to hold them in place, especially if the item is irreplaceable.

I have been a loyal customer of Orin Jewlers for over 25 years, I have always had a enjoyable experience with them and drive over an hour to get there if I need repair or purchase a new item. My main sales person has been Matt through all the years, I would recommend them to any one even though they far away. I have met many of people in my area that have done business with them with all the same type of opinion. Both my wife and myself work with people that have used them many times also.
