Stopped in for 20 minutes, only to come out and find someone had tried to steal my bike. I locked it next to the front doors on the provided bike rack and have a keyed bike cable lock. I had to unlock my cable to lock it to the rack. The lock is newer and in good condition free from damages until now. I did what I felt was the responsible thing and went back into the store to advise the manager of what had happened and inquire if they had security footage he was very dismissive and advised me I should just call the police I expressed to him it was in his best interest to make sure its customers could shop there without fear of being robbed I dont think Ill be back. And all of this in spite of them having a security guard with his hands in his pocket talking to his buddy out front the whole time I wonder how he didnt notice? And so now Im also out of bicycle lock.

First of all, to Google, the zip code is incorrect. Its in the 48201 zipcode not 48202. I live in 48202 which ends at the north side of Warren Ave(not named after my family). I loved the bulk granola flavors. I dont know if its this cheap at other Whole Foods stores in the burbs or wealthier cities, but some things were cheaper than expected, like the granola. The produce was OK: nothing competes with Eastern Market on Saturday or Joe Randazzos. The meat was pricey though. I liked the Indian food at the hot bar. If anybody from the store is reading this, PLEASE MAKE ETHIOPIAN FOOD for the hot bar. There are no Ethiopian restaurants near there since the Eastern Market one closed. If you make Ethiopian food, Ill be there every week.. or more.

Although I am not thrilled that Whole Foods is the only large scale grocery store in the central downtown area, I will say that I really enjoy my visits to Whole Foods when I go. I can always count on them having fresh deli options when I dont feel like cooking a meal, and there are a lot of items they sell that I cannot find at a Kroger or Meijer. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere feels very light and welcoming. My only frustration is parking, especially during "rush hour." It is very hard to get into the parking lot when the hospitals are getting off shift and the parking lot is very small. But I guess they are doing the best with what they have!

Im not a review writer but I had to write this one. I had to call to Whole Foods and ask who made the tuna (on the salad bar). Whoever Erica is in Deli (you were off when I called to thank you) you took that tuna to a whole new level. When I tell you I had to send my assistant to get me a container FULL TO CAPACITY (almost $20) of just that tuna alone. I will be having that as a snack on the way to and from the gym. Thank you for making this transition from no red meat easier. I will need you to have that ready for me because I cant make it without that tuna. I love this Whole Food.

Great store. I like the fact that it is smaller than other WF stores, but it still carries the type of items wanted by us consumers. The store stays busy, so that is a good sign that it is popular and carries great, fresh items. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The fish on Fridays is outstanding. I like the organic vegetable/fruit section -- always fresh. The pasture raised fish/chicken/beef is great. As with all WF stores, the saying is true: Whole Foods - Whole Paycheck. This store does have some wonderful sales that make it a bit more affordable.

More gentrification of Detroit. I will never shop here. As if the only way Detroit can thrive is if whites invest and have have ownership in it. A minorities program could have easily been implamented but everything has been done to condition minorities to be no more than consumers. There is a greektown, poletown, Mexican town etc. but nothing to make African Americans feel at the least included. Money talks but I hate what whites are doing to Detroit. (The great grandchildren of the slave masters own everything and they still not happy)

Never would I have thought there would be a ghetto Whole Foods but here it is!! Literally crazy people who are mostly homeless and smell will yell at you while waiting for your smoothie. They steal and use up all the napkins and utensils. Plus, there was an outbreak of hepatitis in the prepared section a couple months ago. I was happy to just finally have somewhere to buy decent groceries down here but I wont be coming back. Which is sad because I ordered our thanksgiving meal for my 15 family members from here and it was delicious.

Its a mini version of a typical whole foods. Around dinner there seems to be always someone hogging up the hot food bar, whether it be by loading their trays with all the available Mac and cheese or by not comprehending that others will move around you to get what they want when you stop at the tray of pork just staring at it for 5 minutes. The cashiers arent very friendly but the other employees are nice. They have a good selection of teas and coffees to grab and go with, and I love the outdoor seating.

So far so good! Great quality with pretty decent prices. I had dinner from the hot foods bar for two days now. Day one, the Jamaican greens and rice were excellent. I went on day two for more, I think someone forgot to cook the rice on day two, it was extremely crunchy. I also had the grilled sweet potatoes. The fish counter was impressive, salmon burger, shrimp, and scallops is what we purchased.... deliciously fresh! Id visit everyday if I could.

The food is good and fresh but the store is wayyyyy to small every time I turn around its someone all up behind me with their cart you gotta say excuse me like 50 times because its not enough room to just walk around the person its very over priced some of the stuff there you can get at Meijers or Walmart for cheaper if I do go there again it will be early at like 8:30 in the morning so I can walk around and look and shop to actually enjoy store.

We love Whole Foods but this is the first time in the Detroit Store.....smaller store but still great products.....the reason I only gave it 2Stars is because of the staff. Wow is all I have to say at the obviously very unhappy employees. Very unfriendly, they either say nothing as they bowl into you or give nod when going up to the deli counter or fish counter. No smiles, no how can I help you, no how would you like that sliced.

Over the last year, their product offering is getting a little better, as we expected more when moving from Texas, home of Whole Foods. Additionally, we have been in other limited footprint Whole Foods in other places and countries and know it can be done better. In midtown we have a "Half Foods". 2 years ago would have been 3 stars but have seen product offering and presentation improvement differences.
