Im a 4th generation Pollys / Country Market shopper. The stores are big enough to offer a good selection, but small enough feel homey. Their layout is efficient, and most of the stores are well-kept. I dont think Ive ever encountered an unpleasant Pollys / Country Market employee. The Brooklyn Country Market features an excellent pharmacy with short wait times and hands-on pharmacists who are always ready to help, an American 1 Credit Union branch with ATM, and a bakery and deli. Since Country Market is the only grocery in Brooklyn, and Brooklyn is home to Michigan International Speedway (MIS), several popular lakes, and hosts the Faster Horses festivals, business fluctuates greatly. Some days/times the parking lot is full to the road, others there are only a few cars. Week days and late evening are usually the slower times. Somehow the owners manage to staff responsively, and my wait times have never been excessive. Even on days when tourists are pulling bags of ice for their coolers straight out of the delivery truck parked out front because the driver cant refill the refrigerator inside faster then theyre buying! The only cons: prices are high (the superstores have a clear edge), and Id like more/better organic choices (the organic produce is subpar quality).

I was set up to sample a product next to the SeaFood RoadShow thing. I noticed stock was not rotated well at all. Old in the bottom, new in the top. Handwashing was with a hand-sanitizer thing, not a sink and soap. Gloves were not changed between handing items. Id be scared to buy anything from this area. Run to the backroom, toss more seafood onto the top of the display, without changing gloves or washing hands....not very sanitary...... I would not buy seafood or even meat from this store ( I did see that meats were not rotated either).

Very clean. Bathrooms are clean, maybe not brand new, but clean. Cleanest "car" carts (the ones for children) around. Exceptional meat department, I always get lunch meat there and have ordered a Christmas turkey and I even ordered a large order of fried chicken for a get together. The girls at the counter provide fast and friendly service. :-)

When people visit us from out of town they love to go to the Country Market, cant believe the deals and great service, do miss the larger Pies they use to have, the meat department always helps when you need something done, saves me lots of driving to just get get all my food right here in town, plus it a win win for me. Thanks

if you are going to MIS for anything, make sure to have your water and essentials prior to going...this is a small town, they sell out of things quickly...I will say that if you are celebrating a birthday in the area, the bakery is BANANAs!! As long as you give them 24 hours, they will make your wildest dreams come true!!

Good selection for being out in the middle of nowhere. Staff was friendly to our family. However, we were never served in the deli, waited 20 minutes for the number to change from 35 to 36 and it never did. Never got our turn.... no pepperoni for our pizza. :( Oh well.
