I am shopping there quite frequently and without the id issues that the other reviewer had. Generally said I think its anyway not the stores fault, but those ridiculous anti-alcohol laws that make stores fear they could loose their license any moment. That said I think this is by far the best wine store in the area; with good prices and even some folks who know what they are selling - something I have otherwise only come across in fancy stores in Brookline or Beacon Hill (but with prices 20-30% higher) The only minus to me is that they sometimes close five minutes early, just those five minutes that some times could have made a cozy evening perfect. Still - this store is my recommendation to any South Shore Gourmet!

great selection of alcohol,yet the customer service is non existent. there is a relentless check of ones ID, and curtis is famous for asking of the removal of your hat after your liscence has been thoroughly examined. if you dont look like you exceed the age of 55 you will be padded down, wanded and relentlessly questioned as if youve comited a felony. overall the checkout process is by far the worst experience at curtis liquors. i have opted to pay more for my beer at a mom and pop liquor store, i would not enter curtis liquors again for any reason.

I have an AWFUL time everytime I come here. The cashier of this store is terribly rude. He had the audacity to claim that my ID was "passed around for my friends to use" and started asking me questions about my license info. Im clearly over the legal age, and its almost like he mocks me everytime I come in. Not only that, but I saw him yell after a customer after they bought their items because they "were rude" to him. No place should harrass their customers on a regular basis.

Great liquor store for all your party needs. Large selection of craft beers. A lot of hard to find rums (my favorite). Fair prices compared to other liq stores in the area. They do free beer and wine tasting events on Saturday afternoons through out the year (once a month). Staff has always been helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Recently they have been doing a wacky Wednesday sale (15% off sale different items). One week it could be rum, the next whiskey or cigars.

Very good selections on beers you will not find anywhere else. Prices may not be the best, especially on wine. There is a shelf with some interesting beers that have been marked down. Staff can be like zombies sometimes.
