2 stars instead of 1 because the presence of them in the general area lowers the pricing of some competitors, though Trader Joes, Costco, and Sams are generally priced the same whether theres a Market Basket in the area or not. Albeit this store is relatively new, it does have stocking issues and key products are out of stock which forces you to compromise on something priced higher than what youd otherwise buy. Theres also issues that I can not believe, such as pricing for a frozen product being different on individual shelf tags as compared to what is on the freezer door. Lines at the deli and checkout are long. Also, theres certain selection issues in which I have to buy an alternative product priced higher (but same quality) for what I want than what I would otherwise buy at Hannaford. Hannaford may be priced 5% higher or so on average, but once you average everything out, I pay about the same price and have a better shopping experience at Hannaford. Therefore, I conclude that people wanting decent quality groceries can often get out with a lower price with a well-rounded basket of goods at Trader Joes, and wholesale clubs are cheaper by a wide margin. Market Basket even has dried cranberries on sale for $6.99 for 2 lbs when I wrote this. Try a bit more MB; Sams has the same thing on sale for $4.31 for 3 lbs and regular price is $7.31 for 3 lbs (so the regular price at Sams still beats MBs per pound price).

Everything thats posted is basically true; everythings cheap, store is WAY too small for the business it does, some employees could care so much less about their jobs, others try to do the best they can. A major part of the problem is the management; managers get promoted with almost no training. You basically get promoted based on how long youve been there and how much you "dont suck." Supervisors are hardly there to see the problems that I see every day; management is on their best behavior when supervisors come in but all goes back to normal when they leave. The hiring process is pathetic; they will hire anyone and the training is poor. There are hardly any consequences to employees who dont follow the rules or are just lazy. While there are many problems with this store and the company in general, there are still many employees who truly do try to be good employees, follow the rules, and most importantly: service the customers with respect. And yeah, there are a lot of kids whose parents either made them get a job or its the only job they could find. They try to do as little work as possible because they get paid no matter how hard they work. Actually, that also applies to some managers too. I guess it all depends on what connections you have; if you know important people who work there, you will probably like the store more.

i have had several terrible shopping experiences at this location and will never shop there again. from flour tortillas COVERED in mold, to crackers and cereal bars that had pantry beetles in them, i have seen it all at this small and apparently dirty grocery store. through experience, ive learned that they package and wrap vegetables in those green styrofoam trays so that they can sneak in a rotting tomato or a bad ear of corn. shopping there became a huge issue when i felt as though i needed to check the expiration date on EVERYTHING i purchased whether it was dairy, meat, even canned goods. NOT worth saving a few dollars. the fact that the board of health was not surprised when i reported the pantry beetles was reason enough to never go back.

Been shopping there for years. It IS a bit crowded but the checkout lines are never long and they always have 2 people (1 bagging). They carry a wide selection of name brands and some pretty good house-brand stuff. Ive shopped in other area groceries and in other parts of the country and I think its safe to say that a typical grocery run will cost you at least 20% less at Market Basket for the same stuff, so Im glad I live in their market area. Over the years we have saved a LOT of money eating the same stuff you buy at Shaws, Hannafords or Stop&Shop for a lot more. My only issue is that some of their produce could be fresher, otherwise Id give them 5 stars.

In my opinion, Market Baskets reputation for good prices is much better than the reality. The produce and meat are low quality. (Especially the produce) The deli selection is pathetic. The aisles are too small, the lines are too long, the people who work there dont care at all. I go there occasionally to get lobster (when it is on sale) and I will take a spin around the store to check my staples and I rarely find something at a better price than Donelans. If you want good value and customer service, shop the sale circular at Donelans.

While the store doesnt have the flash of others, it has low prices, rapid turnover of items, and the most helpful stock people in the world of grocery stores. I have come to adore and appreciate the sawdust welcome mat that dries feet on wet weather days. The variety of condiments is fabulous, and lately the produce has been rivaling Idylwild at significantly lower prices. At the risk of losing my favorite time to shop, Thursday afternoon at about 2:45 has provided low volume and easy negotiation of the check out. Love the Basket.

Because every time I go into this store they never have anything you want they dont stock product like the Market Basket on Chelmsford Street and Lowell I have to go to that one instead and I live 2 minutes from this Market Basket its because they never have anything that I need and every time I go in there scratch tickets in the machine there always empty so I have no need to keep going there I choose the Market Basket in Lowell on Chelmsford Street across from Stop and Shop

I shop here all the time - great prices, great service and fresh produce is awesome. But one complaint - the cashiers are not allowed to keep a water bottle around them during their shift. I do not care for that policy as it is harmful to their health. And how ironic is it that they can sell the water but not be able to get a sip! Water is life - please allow the cahiers and baggers access to water during their shifts that is the humane thing to do!!!!

At 1:45 Dec 7 , Wednesday at the handicap 16 item register, no one else in line- I am clearly hands capped, the women said I could not use this register, I had 17 items. The women at register 9 was more than helpful as an woman customer was socked at what happen, even gave me her extra Market Basket bags. I have shopped at this Westford Store for years- always wonderful employees and experiences. I will add the pics I have all over the web.

This is the Worst Market Basket Ive been to. I went to this store a couple of years ago, and it is the worst Market Basket I have been to because the Hood Egg Nog was EXPIRED, and the bakery bread and whipped cream were about to expire. Market Basket never rotates their merchandise. But if your sales are low, you drive away your customers and increase your shrinkage. This review is for 2 years ago, I hope they fixed their problems...
