I recently starting playing historical games at the Whiz Store, after other local shops closed up. The owners have recently started carrying Flames of War (WW2) games in addition to the usual fantasy and scifi miniatures games. Unlike most other gamer hangouts, I really enjoy the atmosphere at The Whiz... literally. The place is clean, spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with separate gaming areas for rambunctious players separate from the heart of the store. Theyve also managed to meet gamer needs, while maintaining a family-friendly store with a full selection for the little ones. As a youngster, I would have loved the plastic model and railroad sections. If my boys were still at home, this would definitely be our family gaming hangout, instead of just mine.

I Hate being ignored. I used to go to the Whiz to pick up paints and supplies for hobbies, since they moved I hate going to this new location. First time I wanted to know where something had been moved, the person working there didnt acknowledge my presence and continued playing a game with the other customers. I get he was in the middle of a "game", but simply pointing in a general direction would have been fine. Second time there was some card tournament going on, I again was ignored by staff, despite 2 of them not being involved with the tournament. One was texting and the other was hell bent on taking a smoke break.

At one point in time I had a great deal of faith in this establishment, the employees, and owner. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Management has hired are supports an employee who shouldnt be allowed to interact with the public. His ethics and conduct are conducive with those of a petty thief and thus a reflection upon the business itself. His demeanor undermines the principles found within a gaming community and his actions towards customers tarnish any notion of modern business etiquette. This sadly has lead me to never do business with the establishment again, something clearly not cared about.

Having gained for over 30 years in five states, I was impressed by my reception the first time I walked into the store. To say the least, tabletop gaming can be very clique-e. However, as the "new guy" I was greeted with handshakes and introductions all around. Not only the players, but he staff were welcoming and made sure to let me know to "just ask" if I didnt see something I wanted. Their selection of miniatures from all of the major gaming systems was abundant as well as painting and modeling supplies. I look forward to a new Thursday night haunt.

I went to The Whiz Store just to get supplies for Dungeons and Dragons, and ended up wanting to buy more. My Dad and I were wondering about a game that kids were playing in back, and the man there (The Owner, I think) told us ALL about Warhammer 40,000 and all the different paints, glues, armies, and scenery. Im so into Warhammer now I cant stop thinking about it! besides that, it was extreamly clean and the atmosphere was great. I KNEW I would be coming back so I signed up for the frequent buyer program. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Ive been going to The Whiz for three years or more. They always have good advice. Years ago, they introduced us to Munchkin; now they provide advice to my young son about Magic. Today, they looked everywhere for a single card he wanted to buy, and when they couldnt find it, another patron came and gave him the card just to be gracious. I always buy our games there, and I cant say enough good things about the place.

Is a very well-lit, clean store with a wide variety of games, boxed and otherwise. As far as Role-playing games go, this is now the remaining supplier to the public in Worcester County that is not a big-chain (Barnes Nobles, Borders Books). They could offer a Used games section thats discounted, but otherwise, they seem to take great pride in offering the latest games, and replenishing their stock. Kudos!

This is not just a toy, hobby and game store, this is a great community as well. I have been visiting this store in both its old and new location close to 10 years now - and I always felt welcome and treated great. The owners keep this place clean and friendly, help run multiple events, and will gladly help you find anything they dont already have on the shelves and order it for you.

No other place like it! Real family store doing it for the love of it! The Walshs care for their customers. My kids have left things behind and the next time Im in they have the things in a bag and hand them back! They cultivate a trusting family atmosphere. Toys, games, crafts, and host tournaments. The Walshs are knowledgeable and will special order anything for you.

Went to The Whiz for a MTG Pre-release. The table configuration allowed for many players and the attendants were friendly, as were those that worked in the store. A great time was had by all and I would definitely go again.

I didnt like The Whizz at first but slowly Ive come around to the gaming there. They run pretty good standard events there for magic and I look forward to coming by again to play. Only qualm is the price for boxes of cards.

Great range of products from super nerd (magic the gathering, Warhammer, etc) to classic board games and toys. Prices are always at retail it seems but they also offer a nice rewards program

Friendly Hobby store. Great selection of wargames and board games and educational games. Not much for RPGs, gets crowded during their frequent evening events.
