I was really hoping that all of the wonderful reviews posted on Yelp were going to prove true. As a tattoo enthusiast with multiple pieces of work done by artists the world over, I know a good tattoo shop when I walk into one. This place was bad from the word go. I should have walked out and gone with my instinct but had heard such great reviews about a specific artist I wanted to give it a fair shot. While the artists work was fine - the customer service of the shop itself was beyond horrible. A complete rip off as well. They say the shop minimum is $60 but EVERY SINGLE PERSON ive spoken to who has gotten a tattoo there paid at least $200 for insignificant, tiny, pieces of work. Walk in and show a design? Get told youre a moron for wanting to size it up and make sure its going to fit in the spot you want (willing to pay the deposit, thats what its for!) and look appropriately on your body. The artist isnt even involved in the pricing of the tattoo. I also overheard the guy in the front tell a guy that if he felt the price of $200 was too high, he could charge him $300 and there wouldnt be a single thing he could do about it. Word to the wise. Youre the customer. Tattoos arent all $200. You deserve to be treated with respect by every single person you deal with in a tattoo or piercing experience. I could go on and on about this place. Bottom line, you will not receive the supposedly gleaming treatment described by others at the Sacred Harp.

I got a memorail piece in honor of my Dad. It was a 59 Les Paul and purple haze was written next to it. Ray did my work and I will note that he guarantees his work, however I had someone else fix it. The head of the guitar was inaccurate, no strings, the knobs were just circles and the sunburst color was wrong. The purple haze looked as if it were wriiten with a pen. The $200 tattoo (tip included) looked flat and exceptionally plain, basic and lacked depth, color and was positioned oddly on my arm. It was definitely a Les Paul to the trained eye but it lacked any real effort. I heard great things about Jesse who works there and my daughter is a big fan. Not a good experience for me and i wouldnt go back but maybe it was an off day for him...personally it was a super important piece that didnt get a quarter of the respect it deerved.

This was the worst experience Ive ever had, thanks Jesse. I asked him for a very specific design, which I will admit- wasnt technique-wise the best tattoo- but hey, its what I wanted. Anyway, Jesse tried talking me out of how I wanted to design my tattoo and kept veering me away from my path. Anyways, in the end, he agreed to do it the way I wanted as it should be, AS ITS ON MY BODY FOREVER. Then when I complained and asked why on earth he did it the way I said I wanted, he said "its my art work and my reputation" REALLY BECAUSE ITS MY BODY??? Its my body and he shouldve sent away my business if he wasnt willing to do it my way. Im just sad I have this on my body forever.

BAD EXPERIENCE!!! If you wonna go there, make sure you get a quote in writing. I was quoted a price between $300 and 450, the final price we agreed with the guy, his name is Bix, was $400. Done, shacking hands, i was booked for next Friday, have a nice day. Came back a week later to get a tattoo and was told that well do the first(biggest) part of tattoo today for $400 and the rest well do next time for another $150. When I reminded about our verbal agreement that its 400 for the whole tattoo, I was told, that he will not do it for $400 "because its a lot of work". Needless to say I didnt get a tattoo at this shop. Very upset about this f...ing indecent crafty bul...t.

i love this shop. i have gotten almost all of my tattoos here and will probably never go anywhere else. the artists are all great dudes and their work is just outstanding. anyone who says differently is wrong.

Needed a cover up tat that youll only notice if I point it out, Love it! Everyone there worked in a professional manor and very easy to talk to so was able to get exactly what I wanted. Only cost me $125.
