I lived in Plymouth for more than 4 years, and had not noticed this rare treasure until my senior year of high school. I stumbled in and asked if the previous Owner, Chuck, had any open positions in hope that my little dream of working at a bookstore would finally come true. Weeks had passed, then after waiting numerous weeks I received a phone call asking for my help ASAP. I had the pleasure of working for him for the spring and summer & loved every minute of it. Before I left the city, I met the new owner Mary, whom was just as delightful as Chuck. Ill always remember this little bookstore in my heart, and the adventures I stumbled into while being there.

When I met the owner, he jokingly referred to his shop as the best kept secret in Plymouth. Considering the shameful lack of reviews Im seeing online, he may not be entirely incorrect to say so. Whats up with that, internet? You totally dropped the ball on this one. The Yankee Book & Art Gallery is a veritable treasure trove of used books that has no reason to be overlooked. A peruse of this quaint bookshop will reveal that it has to offer a broad collection of work, from local history to modern fiction and more. A very likely place to pick up on some interesting and perhaps unusual finds.

Such a cool bookstore. I can spend literally hours in this store, but this is unlike any franchise bookstore around. The way it is set up really makes you feel like you discovering gems among the shelves. Books of all ages and genres can be found here, and the owner is passionate about books; during my first visit, he offered to let me look at a first edition Charlottes Web he had under lock and key! If you love reading, do yourself a favor and check Yankee Book & Art Gallery out!

I am the kind of person who can spend hours in a good bookstore and not even realize that any time has passed. And I completely lost my sense of time in the Yankee Book and Art Gallery, so much so that I was quite late for a meeting. The shelves are well-stocked with an impressive variety of subject matter, and the owner clearly knows his business. Plan to spend a good bit of time here, because you never know what treasure you might turn up!

I wish I could find a book store with the special gems that can be found in this hidden location. It a typical quaint New England space conveniently located across from the blue blinds, you can most certainly find something special here, I always do. I have looked for stores like it in other cities, and nothing compares.

Is a nice original bookstore. The owner was very open to me and allowed me to browse an old Bible. The Bible is from about the time of the war of 1816.
