We accidentally stopped by Vision House with my wife looking for a pair of glasses fo her. The guy (he is the owner - the one with glasses on Yelps photo) showed us his assortment of frames and kindly gave my wife to try some of them. Then we asked how much are they and eye exam together and the guy said $80. We were a bit surprised by such a low price and asked if it is special and the guy answered yes, they have special today. Fine, we went to Dr next door to take exam, he was very-very nice BTW. But when we returned the guy started showing us his frames again and saying that this one is $500, this one is $600, etc. The cheapest appeared to be $350, as I remember. When we asked what was his $80 he said it is just eye exam. We started hesitating if need the glasses fo this price. Yes, his frames are designers ones by Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, etc, but I can easily find them twice as cheaper. Cohens optical, for example, has much better prices and service. But that is high-end Newbury str salon - Im not talking about a bit lower end salons with the same Prada frames. Nevermind, me and my wife just stepped a bit away from the guy to discuss if we really need that glasses. And, guess, what was the reaction of the guy? He became red and started jumping, I a true sense of this word, saying that were thieves, that we didnt want to pay even for exam and that we wanted to run away. No single word from our side didnt persuade him that we were just discussing things. Guess what he did then? HE PROPOSED TO BUY THE CHEAPEST FRAME AT LEAST OTHERWISE HE CALLS POLICE!!! Im not kidding - thats exactly what he did!!! We were totally confused by such kind of mad-man maniac bevavior, but fortunately we quickly realized that it is better to wait for police. OK, policemen came (actually three of them), we explained the situation, they said that we need to pay for exam, we paid and left. I dont know what the guy expected policemen to do... But thats not the end of the story:-) When we returned home and checked reviews of the VIsion House, we found that the guy is police regular customer:-) There is a lot of people who complained that their visit of Vision House ended up with conversation with policemen. Can you imagine that??? Suggestion for everybody: IF YOU WANT TO BE FOOLED, TO BE CHEATED AND THEN BE RIPPED OFF, WANT TO WAIT FOR POLICE AND TALK TO THEM, THEN GO TO VISION HOUSE. For owner: It is not the way to do business in the States! Welcome to America!

Most horrible, shocking, verbally abusive experience I have EVER had, with eye care or anything else. This place was listed under my insurance. I went and got an eye exam, and was then told the eye doctor was not under insurance because he was in a different company, the contacts would not be under insurance because they were issued by the doctor, and that I HAD to buy contacts because I had an exam. After arguing for a few minutes and getting nowhere, I agreed to pay but asked for a receipt and written statement that the doctor was not part of the company so I could talk to my insurance company myself. This was when the guy freaked out and started yelling at me, saying I had to pay or else he would call the police, grabbed my credit card out of my hand, charged me, and told me to get out. This "family-run business" is unprofessional, unstable, and treats anyone who cannot dish out $400 on the spot with distain. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE EYE-MED OR ANY OTHER INSURANCE.

I went to vision house for glasses for myself and my young daughter. We were ushered upstairs to an eye doctor who spent most of the time talking about himself, repeatedly touch my knee and my daughters knee and then he would apologize. During the eye exam, another patient came up to talk about what she was being charged for her exam and the doctor was verbally abusive to her and told her to get out and "take it up downstairs." When I received my new glasses, they did not improve my vision in any way. I returned them the next day and asked for refund. Have not received refund. Vision House is horrible in every respect. I would never go back, and I intend to take them to court if I dont get refund.

Ive been a customer for decades. Theyre not inexpensive, but theyve got a terrific selection of frames, and have always delivered good service. And when Ive need emergency help, such as shipping me a replacement pair, out the same day for next day delivery out of town, theyve stepped up and got it done. And been pleased that they could be helpful beyond the usual quick turn around. As for repairs, Ive never had an issue, even with glasses that Ive had for years. As theyre stated in replies to a number of negative reviews, the guy with the crappy attitude is gone, and theyre eager to make amends.

I bought a frame here a couple of months ago. It was a really cool Heliflex frame which was supposed to be child proof. After my toddler broke the leg off i was dreading going back and fighting for a replacement frame. However I experienced wonderful customer service. They didnt even question it and replaced the frame. I was out of the store with a replaced frame with no hassle. When you have a toddler this was gold. This is my first ever review and i believe they deserve every star. I will definitely go back.

Whenever I went in to get the glasses I purchased there adjusted, they looked at me suspiciously and asked if I bought them there. It was grudging service, every time. Once I was asked to leave the store because I didnt have my prescription. My wife and I were the only ones in the store. I was wearing the glasses I bought there, so was potentially a repeat customer. Ive never felt had an experience like that in a store. Not even close. I cannot understand how they stay in business.

This small shop has the largest variety of frames, mostly from Europe. Theselection is unbelievable. The glasses are made on location, and in mostcases cn be made within one hour. I reeive so many compliments on myglasses, and love the uniqueness of the selection. The employees are morethan willing to make suggestions and are honest in their opinions. They would rather you look great than merely sell a pair of frames.

The eye doctor here told me it would cost $50 to fix my glasses. The guy seemed a little shady to me so I went to another glasses place in Harvard square and they fixed the glasses for five dollars.
