They listed a rifle Ive been looking for on the gunauction web site. I called and made an offer over the phone, which was accepted on the condition that I pay with cash. I agreed but offered a credit card number for them to hold it, which they said was unnecessary. I then took the day off from work and drove 3.5 hours(round-trip) only to find out that minutes before I walked in the store, the gun had been sold to someone else. I was irate, but Chris(apparently the manager) said they had another one in the safe on layaway, which would be available in two weeks if the buyer didnt pick it up. Somewhat satisfied(or at least content that it was an honest mistake), I agreed and left. When I got home, I searched the auction site for another rifle, when I came across what I thought was another listing from Southern MD. Thinking this was the second rifle they promised me, I decided to buy it. It turns out that this was the same rifle they sold to me before selling it to the other person, who never actually picked it up but put it on layaway. I found all of this out in a phone conversation with Brett(the owner) the following morning. He emailed me and told me I should be able to expect to pick it up on Saturday, but when we talked on the phone, he said that it was the same rifle I had purchased the day before and that it was no longer available. Apparently, the guy who bought it after me purchased 10 guns from them. He also told me that there never was a second rifle. Confused and skeptical, I called Chris and said that since they were so comfortable with giving me the bad news, in fairness, they should call the other buyer and explain that he bought a gun that had already been sold hours before he walked in the shop. Chris said that I was right and hed talk with Brett, get it worked out and be back in touch later. Two and a half hours later, Brett called me and told me the original buyer came by to pick it up "an hour ago". These guys cant get their stories straight and cost me a half day of work, hours on the phone and about $30 worth of gas. Im quite sure that the second buyer offered more money, but maybe it was his purchase of nine other guns. In any case, a deal is a deal, except at Southern MD Pawn Brokers.

So i was a lousy 2 days late on my payment and they Put my item on the shelf to be sold!!! a lousy 2 days....Ive pawned stuff before and they always gave you a week or so. When I got my item back it had huge scratches in it which i know for a dead level fact! they werent there before. I took care of it since the day i bouught it.. Needless to say bunch off a$$h0|e$ that work there DONT PAWN UR STUFF THERE UNLESS U DONT WANT IT BACK THE WAY U BROUGHT IT OR WANT IT BACK AT ALL SINCE THEY DONT GIVE U ANY GRACE PERIOD AT LATE FOR BEIN 2 DAYS LATE.

Bret,Drew,Pat,all employees,very professional. Very fair and friendly. They always treat me as,or better than family. I WILL NOT go anywhere else. I recommend all to come to this pawn shop 1st before going anywhere else. You will be pleased. Asset to community as well. Im very thankfull and indebted to them. Wonderful people.

Hey, these guys were very nice. The two gentlemen that were there gave me my space. No pressure and they got my business. They also didnt treat me like I was bothering them even after I wasnt sure if I wanted an item I had been looking at for 20 minutes.

Very rude owner. DONT pawn anything here unless you plan on not getting it back. The owner refused to allow me to retrieve my items. Very VERY unprofessional. Probably will be out of business soon with the way their customer service is.
