Cant go wrong with this place. Knowledgeable and helpful staff, loads of quality material, and prices that are on par with any other place. Im pretty new to fly fishing and these guys patiently answer all of my questions and spend time with me helping me decide what I need. They will not oversell you, if they feel youre better off with something less expensive, theyll tell you. Ive called them while fishing the Gunpowder and even though they had no idea who I was they still answered all my what should I do in this scenario questions. I still didnt catch the fish but that was my fault, not theirs... Just make sure you bring a dog treat for Jack the dog. I have no idea how many hours he puts in at the shop but he always seems to be there.

Great fly tying supplies, fly fishing gear and great advice from friendly and knowledgeable staff make this a great choice for online or in person shopping. Their excellent material selection helped me to tie very effective traditional winged wet flies, soft hackles and North Country spiders. The expertise and service are superb. This is one of the few places whose staff will talk you out of something you dont need, or point you to a less expensive alternative which will serve just as well. Good people who know their stuff make this place a great place to shop,. Online orders are fulfilled with scrupulous attention to detail and great communication. Bravo.

Decided to start fly fishing. Went to the big "sport stores" and found out that all their store clerks knew less than I did. I accidentally drove by Great Feathers and decided to stop. Met Dave B (some long name) and he was very friendly and knowledgeable on fly fishing. Knew that I was new in the sport and "hooked me up (no pun intended)" with all the right gear. It was very pleasant to shop there and I look forward to their instruction classes in the spring.

Rob took me and a buddy out on the Gunpowder, Great Feathers provided all of the gear. Trout werent really biting, but we had an excellent time and Rob was very informative. Learned a few things Ill be applying on future outings. Rob also offered a session with his Tenkara rod, a style of fly fishing Id heard a lot about but had yet to try. Great experience, well-stocked store, informative and excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Mike and Great Feathers have been my go to shop for everything outdoors in Sparks and beyond since I moved to the area 15 years ago. Ive been coming to the store consistently since I moved here to chat about whats biting and different adventure spots. Not to mention Im always supplied at a good price. Not big into writing reviews, shouldnt have taken this long!!

The hubby and I took a fly fishing lesson from Rob a few weeks back and had an excellent time! Hes knowledgable and easy going. We learned a great deal in four hours and my husband caught a lovely little rainbow trout in the process. Highly recommend for gear and fishing consult.
