I just love visiting Vigilante. The waitstaff are steady year-round, a familiar face with a name I can get to know! Young 30s and 20s, an eclectic mix! The variety of coffees beyond their staples, changes every so often, so I get the opportunity to treat myself from time to time. Theres a mix of seating options for movers-and-shakers, so no couches or long-stays here; youre definitely expected though to have a notepad, book, laptop, or good friend. Lots of two-seater options as well as one-seater bar areas. Lastly, Vigilante is a supporter of the arts. I appreciate the music series and their dedication to the Hyattsville community with their annual Arts Fest coffee-and-pastries donation! --- Vigilantes a staple. Energetic spot for socializing or just to find a cranny to nestle into to get some work done. This coffee shop is first and foremost a roastery, so expect some noise and surprised smiles from newcomers. If you plan ahead, check out their website for their tasting room class schedule. Lastly, Vigilante has a points system, SpotOn, so if you come here enough like I do youll get a discount on pastries or better yet, a free coffee.

this is a cool place, and the coffee is good, but its pretty expensive. I just stopped in because the place looked pretty cool but to tell you the truth, Im not sure how they stay in business?? I ordered a $4.50 cup of coffee and it was OK. I also ordered a bagel and they gave me a toasted bagel with a side of cream cheese. I just figured for $7.50 theyd slap the cream cheese on the bagel so I didnt have to do it myself with a plastic knife. I also just wanted a little sweet & low for my coffee but I guess thats not cool with high end coffee. I dont know, maybe Im just not sophisticated enough for a cool coffee shop, and it is a cool place to hang out, but I just felt a little out of place. Im not sure if they had wifi of not but that would seem to be an absolute must for a coffee joint. They also may want to diversify a little by having some variety in breakfast food, lunch etc... Like I said, from a business point of view, Im just not sure how they expect to stay in business for very long.

You know I like this place. But theyre slow. Got there and there was like 8-10 people in line. Not a big deal it was peak time. They had one employee with a tablet taking orders in the line and one at the register. I thought "this was great". Im pretty easy, I just wanted a drip coffee and a biscuit cold out of the cabinet. You know pour it in the cup and hand me the biscuit, easy. So the guy takes my order and a couple others we pay and he walks away. When he took my order I was one person away from the register. So i proceed to wait 10-15 min or more while hes back there making custom drinks I assume. I finally went up the register after all the customers had been served and asked for a drip coffee and a biscuit, wow had my order in 30sec. Luckily I wasnt in a hurry. Still watching 10 or 15 people served while all you want is a simple coffee is not good for me.

Vigilante Coffee will make you fall in love with DCs coolest suburb, Hyattsville. Its just off the main street of Hyattsville filled with fun stores and restaurants. Vigilante Coffee is a large, industrial style coffee shop and roastery serving GREAT coffee, fun vibes, and a meeting space for all. Heres why you should drive a few minutes east of DC for this spot: 1) It has PLENTY of seating. Youre bound to find a table with space and outlets for your computer. 2) The atmosphere is inviting and inspiring. 3) They sell kolaches for a more unique, but very tasty snack. 4) Their latte is on point and it barely needs any sweetener. 5) They have free, strong wifi during the week. Weekends they turn it off and encourage socializing. Ill be back, Vigilante!

A coffee shop that knows coffee and roasts it own beans. There are limited plugs for working there so bring a full charge or power strip to make more plugs available. Friendly service and brews that have a wide range of character and flavor you should expect from a business that cares about its product and has word of mouth reputation everyone raves about. Bright interior with a small outdoor patio let you enjoy the best of the weather and in an environment that ranges from medium to packed depending on the time and day of the week. You cannot go wrong with a choice of drink here and their scones are a perfect pairing.

Big open airy cafe, not a ton with a similar aesthetic. Ive always thought they roast too dark, but thats just my personal preference. Last time I went in it looked like they offered some kind of table service, which is fairly unique for a cafe in North America. They also apparently sell skateboards and a small amount of skating accessories. Also I should note if you are coming in with a bike, I was able to bring it inside since I didnt have my lock. Im sure they werent thrilled about it but there was enough space to leave it in the shop for the few minutes I was there.

I love, love, love Vigilante! The coffee is such high quality, the people who work there are friendly and awesome (and they love really good coffee as much as you do, so youre guaranteed to get an awesome recommendation if you ask for ideas on what to drink), and the atmosphere is great. They have a bowl of water out for dogs, as well. Perfect for work, play, meeting up with friends, learning more about coffee at their classes, picking up the best coffee beans and gadgets to use at home, or just stopping in for a cup on the run. Seriously, go here, have a seat, enjoy.

My favorite place to come and chat with friends, get work done, or just chill. Very cool but unpretentious and diverse atmosphere, knowledgable and friendly staff, and most importantly, excellent coffee. Im a big fan of the rotating pour over selection, and their house cold brew is very on point, especially when they do batches of whiskey aged. Coming to vigilante has really gotten me thinking about the artistry of coffee picking, roasting, and brewing, and I feel like my taste buds grow a bit every time I visit. Always happy to stop by when I have a chance!

Great place to get coffee and work. I love the crowd that comes here. There is ample natural light and it is bright and airy compared to Starbucks which is very dark with its dark beams and wood. The coffee is on the pricey side but thats what you get for premium quality. Also, at times, it is hard to find a seat because it has become popular since more people discovered it. There is no parking however, a lot of people park at the St. Jerome Church lot and walk down. The church doesnt tow. The staff is friendly. I love this place.

Ive tried one of the pour overs as well as the cold-brew and both were excellent. Full of flavor and character, although it may be too intense for some. I tried an apple turnover as well and that was okay but not mind-blowing. You can tell as soon as you walk in that they know what theyre doing and take their coffee very seriously. Its a bit pricey so its probably not something Id come to every day, but maybe every few weeks to treat myself. Sometimes its worth it to pay a bit more for a really outstanding cup of coffee.
