Posted on this companys Facebook community page to see if anyone could help determine the value - if there was any - to a bunch of old war/strategy games i found in my attic that belonged to my dad. I had no idea where to begin - and was recommended by a person who stopped a yard sale i had to go check this place out. A person "Shawn - Game Citadel" commented and said to "bring them in" and have them look at them. Today I had some time to stop in and asked the person at the counter if they could help figure out what I had for games. This seemed to be the typical "magic/d&d" place. The man at the counter - couldnt of been older than 22 - said "he didnt buy games". I said I was just looking to see what I had and wanted information. He then again said "i dont buy games". This is not the first time that "magic/d&d" people have said they dont have money to me. But in this case I just wanted to get information. I walked off and took a look at their used game section as I was walking out - way over priced...$40 for a dreamcast game? Anyway I hope someone there gets wind of this. I really was hoping to get information on these games - there is limited information online and literally nowhere else in maine could help that i can think of. I will never go back here - and people who are thinking about it - should just go to Bull Moose.

Board games, miniatures, trading card games, video games- these guys have it all! If you’re looking to enter the world of gaming, getting back into gaming, or just a place to buy gifts for the gamer in your family- check out Game Citadel. The staff there are welcoming and friendly, they’ll make you a great deal, and will get you the info you need on any type of game. Game Citadel has a large room for gaming with plenty of table space, an expansive retail section with a huge variety of games, and the cleanest gaming store bathroom that I’ve seen yet! After being away from the Magic: the Gathering tournament scene for a few years, I learned about Game Citadel in Bangor. That was 2 years ago, and now I’m a regular there at least once a week. Game Citadel not only re-energized my love for Magic, but introduced me to dozens of people I never would have met- and now consider to be friends. Game Citadel also introduced me to SnowCon- an annual gaming convention in Orono, ME. There, I discovered the world of cooperative board gaming- Mansions of Madness, Battlestar Galactica, Pandemic, etc. Game Citadel promotes gaming and good sportsmanship in a welcoming atmosphere. Young or old, new or veteran, you can get your game on at the Citadel!

Game Citadel, Is a location that has more fun then your typical McDonalds Play Place. Where you are able to tap into your gaming heritage from consul games ranging from Super Nintendo to Xbox 360. They have it all. When your carving you Pokemon fix or want to make a speed run through a Zelda game. They got it. If video games is not your "cup of tea" there is always table top gaming, ranging from Magic the gathering to War machine. Besides the fully store aspect, the atmosphere has never felt more professional and welcoming when you first walk in. With a supporting gaming community behind this store, your always bound to find customers playing Magic the Gathering or some variant of board game like Battle Star Galactic to Settlers of Catan. With a welcoming environment you are able to find something to do or Join. If your looking for a game or a great place to hang out then this is the place to go!

The owner likes to play pick and choose with people if your not over 20 and go in alone be ready to feel stupid if you ask a question the owners replies tend to be sarcastic when your trying to buy a game or something. If he knows you and likes you business might go well if he dosent well be prepared to get unfair service. One of my experiences being there was a bunch of guys and the owner talk to a couple of teenagers and trying to act smart and constantly making fun of them just because theyve been around longer. Some friendly enviroment. Thus the owner is a jerk almost all the time and the people are just ignorant all these people who say its a great store are people who go there and are his friends dont go to his store I suggest go to 3geek better people and prices! Hope I could help.

GC is the best, cleanest, and friendliest hobby shop environment that Ive ever known, been going here ever since they opened. I play Magic the Gathering with many of my friends when I can, and this store is my favorite place to attend a tournament and play casual games. Shawn has always kept the prices on MTG stock very fair too - even when fatpacks of Battle for Zendikar were running out at stores everywhere and the prices were skyrocketing at most individually run hobby stores, GCs pricing was as expected for any other fatpack and I could afford to grab some - I always preorder my product here when I can. Grant, Shawn and Sarah are knowledgeable about pretty much any type of gaming hobby you might have, and have never steered me wrong. Best store around. :)

Game Citadel is a great gaming environment in the Bangor Area. We love the employees there, especially Sara who is always helping us find presents for our boyfriends! The rest of the staff is friendly and really knows their games and helps direct you or order the exact things you want. The gaming room is clean and large enough to host large tournaments or multiple tournaments depending on the night. They are organized with their calendar of events and they even travel to support other local shops in the Maine area. Needless to say Game Citadel is a one stop shop for any gamer in the Bangor area looking for any game or game advice in the Bangor area! I highly recommend them to anyone I come in contact with who questions where to go! Love it!

I would not recommend Game Citadel as a first choice for video games and consoles. Although their prices are fairly competitive, unfortunately you just dont get the same customer service you would get at Bull Moose or other similar stores. As a small business owner I understand the difficulties that can be associated with the Video Game Industry. However, at the end of the day it has to always be about satisfying your customers so that they keep coming back. I was a customer but was told by the owner that he no longer wanted my business. Apparently buying product from people and making a profit off of it is only a one-sided approach for him.
