Rafael and the Iron Horse Tattoo family have always been warm and welcoming to my husband and me. Todays is my husbands birthday, and I knew exactly where to go to get his birthday present. This will be my husbands third visit. Rafael is the reason he keeps going back--not only is he a fine artist but he is also gracious and generous to his clients. The first tattoo Rafael created for Charlie was done freehand from a photograph I took of Charlie holding our son when he was just two months old. The detail and care Rafael put into that tattoo far surpassed our expectations, and weve loved him ever since. Please consider patronizing this family-run business if you are planning to purchase a tattoo. The new location on Jordan is minutes from downtown Shreveport in a vintage gas station that has been completely restyled in rich purples and antiqued mirrors. You will love the look and feel of the interior and the Iron Horse family will treat you right. Me and my boyfriend decided to get piercings. He got a tongue ring, I got a nose piercing. The two girls that did the piercing were disinterested in the first place and all they were worrying about what was the time and how long they had left to close the place. First of all, the girl that did my boyfriends piercing, LET HIM HOLD THE PLIERS!!! THIS IS AN EXTREME NO NO! His piercing was slanted and we had to get it removed! My piercing was WAYYYY off and the girl took her sweet time to pierce it AND I had to remove mine as well. In result, my bfs tongue and my nose piercing was done horribly wrong. When we went to another shop, the owner was shocked that this place got away with this. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! THE 2 FOR TWENTY IS NOT WORTH IT!!! I would give this place a negative if I could.

The only problem I have with this place is the price they charged me for my little tattoo. $50 for two little hearts. The wait wasnt long. The artist helped me pick colors that would stand out on my dark skin color. I do feel like it will have to be touched up once it heals tho. I went to rite aid to buy the a&d ointment and the cashier knows the artist that did my tat she made me feel like he rushed my stuff and it couldve been done better. Dont think Ill be going back.

They have an artist that is very good at portraits but thats about all they have going for them. Of course this was a year ago, and I dont know if there are new artists, but besides that one artist the scrapbooks I looked in were just slightly better than tattoos done is most peoples living rooms. Dont be scared to get a simple tattoo here at all, but sacred geometry would be a no no.

New location. But i have been going to iron horse for years. I come from Texas to go get tatted. My fav tat artist is Boosie. He has been tattooing me since 2009. Highly recommend Boosie for names and flowers. But as far as the other workers, I wont ever go back.
